Kristoff had woken up at six in the morning on Saturday to an unusually loud amount of noise. It was Saturday, which not only meant extra sleep next to his freckle covered girlfriend but it also meant peace and quiet. He groaned and rolled over reaching out to hug Anna when he realized, she wasn't laying next to him.
Kristoff immediately jumped up, pulling on a pair of pants and a dirty shirt and started calling Anna's name. It was far too early for Anna to get up on a Saturday, she hated mornings and waking up at 6:00 on a Saturday morning was considered a sin in her mind.
"Anna? Anna are you out there?" Kristoff rounded the corner of his bedroom and sighed with relief as he rushed into the kitchen.
There was Anna wearing an over sized Ugly Christmas Sweater over her favorite pair of leggings as she flipped pancakes. Her iPod was turned to the max, blasting Christmas music, and a pyramid of boxes had been placed in between the living room and the kitchen.
Kristoff shook his head with a smile and rubbed his eyes.
"Any particular reason for getting up at six in the morning on a Saturday, Feistypants?" He smirked leaning up against the countertop. Anna, forever enthusiastic, smiled cheerfully and through her arms up in a sort of cheer "It's November first!" The redhead grabbed a pink Santa hat from the counter and snagged another red one and stuck it on Kristoff's head, before finishing cooking her pancakes.
Kristoff nodded in deep concentration.
"Okay. So you get Christmas decorations out?"
Anna rolled her eyes but continued to grin as she handed Kristoff his plate of Christmas tree shaped pancakes and sat on the counter across from him. "Of course we get out Christmas decorations! It's holiday law! November first is the start of Christmas season!" Anna had by now stuffed her mouth full of pancakes, "Everybody knows that." Krostoff nodded but still looked obviously confused.
"But what about Thanksgiving?"
Anna simply shrugged and dug into her second Christmas tree. "What about Thanksgiving?"
"Well we can't just skip over Thanksgiving."
Anna chuckled and set her plate down,
"Thanksgiving is just there for the food. Christmas overpasses turkey day any day."
"But you can't just pass over it, It's a major holiday!" Kristoff slid over to her so he was just over eye level with her. Anna laughed and wrapped her arms around Kristoff's neck.
"It's not like I'm skipping it. Just getting prepared is all."
Kristoff wrapped his arms around her waist resting his forehead on hers.
"Prepared huh? Did you get me anything yet then?" His sarcasm gleaming in his eyes.
Anna smirked and leaned foreword, "I have some ideas." Anna's lips were inches away from Kristoff's when her iPod switched from the slow Silent Night instrumental to an upbeat Twelve Days of Christmas. Anna squealed and jumped onto the floor and started singing along, pulling Kristoff into a wild jig type dance around the apartment.
"On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me! A partridge in a pear tree! On the second day of Christmas my true love gave to me! Two Turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree!"
Kristoff laughed his head flying back and he and Anna twirled across the apartment until the song was over and he and Anna were an exhausted heap on the couch.
Anna smiled softly,
"I love that song."
Kristoff nodded, still humming the tune in his head, but then shrugged.
"I don't know, I think the gifts are just O.K."
Anna jumped up, almost offended, and mocked a gasp "And why on earth would you say that?"
Kristoff leaned forward and bear hugged her and mumbled,
"Because you're the best gift I've ever gotten."
