Soooo I decided to change my prompt. The previously selected prompt was High School but I want all of my high school based stories to be longer than one shots...
So, without further ado, my prompt, A Night To Remember
(Prompt 8: Remember) A Night To Remember
Natsu and I sat by the water. Together we stared at it as the moon glistened off the shore.
Natsu didn't say a word. I turned to face him with a confused look on my face. This was the quietest I had ever seen him.
That's right. In all my time knowing Natsu Dragneel, he had never been one to stay quite. About anything. He was even a noisy sleeper!
He didn't even look at me as I stared at him.
He continued to stare straight ahead.
I sighed. "Are you okay?" I asked him.
No answer.
"It's not your fault you know." I reassured him.
"Hn." He responded.
"Natsu, I really am okay." I said rubbing my injured leg.
"You'd be better if I would've gotten there faster."
"It doesn't matter. You got there and saved me."
"But you got hurt."
"And you hurt him worse."
"..."
"Natsu I-"
"Lucy." He turns to me.
"Yes?"
He moved a little closer.
"You have no idea how important you are to me, do you?"
He moved a little closer. My breath hitched.
"Lucy, I hate to see you cry. I hate to see you hurt." He moved closer."
"I hate seeing you with those guys who mean you no good." A little closer. "I want to protect you from all bad things." He grips my chin.
"I don't know what I would do if I lost you." I felt his breath tickle my lips.
"I love you." He ended, closing the distance between us.
The kiss was soft. Just like his lips.
It was that moment that I realized that this would be a night I would always remember.
It was the night I had seen Natsu at his quietest.
A night I witnessed him be romantic.
But more importantly, the night we shared our first kiss.
A night I would always remember.
