A loud, annoyed groan echoed through the small window of a certain bluenette's house. Dawn's head suddenly popped out of the fairly normal-sized opening through her window, scanning her azure eyes around. All she saw was the tree that rested just a few feet from the side of her house that her room resided in. She could see her open, fence-less backyard, carpeted in nothing but luscious green grass, and some petty flowers here and there. The girl inched her body out even more from the frame of the window, trying to fish out a clearer view of the small town of Twinleaf. The sight of nothing but the small pond, and another house brought a frown to her pink lips. "Aww..."
She leisurely tilted her head over back, scanning her small room, until her eyes landed on the clock on her nightstand. It was around two in the afternoon. Walking back to her bed, she plopped down at the edge, leaning her body against the cold wall. Dawn bumped her head against said wall, boringly looking up at the ceiling. "Ugh, I'm so bored!"
Her mind tried to pull out anything she could do to distract herself. She did her hair, picked out her outfit—which is always the same thing, yet her hat was more of a light pink than usual—fixed her room, etc. Yet, everything she did wasn't enough to kill the time. The petite girl wished that something would come over to relieve her boredom.
Barry was the first person to come to her mind. The blond would make sure that she wouldn't be bored.
Only problem: he was nowhere in sight.
"Where are you? Ugh, stupid Barry and his stupid hair, and his stupid scarf, and his stupid... cute orange eyes—"
"WHAT?! I'M NOT STUPID!"
CRASH!
She flinched at the loud noise, quickly hopping off her small bed. Dawn flickered her blue eyes to the window, and sweatdropped. The only thing she saw was the rustling of the leaves that detached from the branches due to the impact, letting them flutter down along with the crisp breeze. "Oh, boy..." she muttered to herself, quickly rushing over to the window. The bluenette once again, popped her head out of her window, and looked down.
Excitement and surprise immediately swirled inside of her once she gasped, seeing the blond boy on the ground. "BARRY!" she blurted out, gracing a very wide smile. Without warning, she swooped back inside, and made her way out of her house to meet him.
Said male sat up slowly, and rubbed the back of his head with one eye shut. "Ow..." he hissed a bit. "Gotta be careful next ti—ACK!"
Dawn had cut through his monotonous sentence, throwing her arms at him with a squeal. "Barry, here you are!" she cheered, her boring demeanor shifting to one of exhilaration. Her lips let out a happy laugh into their embrace.
"I'm here—" he muffled out, moving his face away from her shoulder. Nonetheless, he returned the embrace, laughing along with her as well. "As promised! And, I'm not stupid!"
Pulling back, she pouted at him cutely. "Yes you are, because you're late!"
"Um... better late than never...?" Barry answered in a sheepish tone, chuckling.
Dawn hopped back up to her feet, and yanked the boy up off the grassy ground. Holding onto his large hand tightly, she started to drag him along towards the outskirts of their hometown. Looking over her shoulder, she flashed him a haughty smirk. "I'm fining you for being late!"
"Hey! Only I do the fining around these parts!"
"Not today!"
"But Daaaaaaaaaaaaaawn!" he groaned out. When she simply replied to him with a smile, Barry chuckled yet again, and let the girl pull him along out-of-town. He loved making the girl smile, even if it meant paying a fine.
