Emma Swan groaned lightly feeling a knee press into the spinal curve off her back. She leaned forward, trying to escape from Regina's knee, to no avail. Emma opened one of her eyes partially, squinting in the light of the digital alarm clock that read 5:23 AM in giant red numbers. She shut her eyes tight before opening them abruptly and turning her head quickly. "Regina!" She spat in a silent whisper, staring at the outline of the brunette laying beside her in bed. The brunette groaned lightly, and opened one eye, "What Emma?" She moaned groggily, clearly in a fake tone. There were only few things Regina Mills could do, and one was acting when it wasn't needed for something severely important. "Get your knee out of my back!" Emma snapped, turning back the other way and shutting her eyes tight.

Regina opened her other eye, the reflective light of the moon dancing in her them. A smirk tugged on the corners of her mouth, but she held it back. She brought her leg forward slightly, digging her knee a little stronger into the blonde's back. Emma whirled around clutching onto Regina's bare thigh, her index and middle finger fingertips lightly touching the lace of her black, silk panties. "Regina, it's 5:23 AM! Quit it." Emma growled slightly, now facing the brunette who was already in her face, her lips lightly brushing against hers. "Go to-," Emma whispered slightly as she shut her eyes and brought her lips closer to Regina's, greeting her girlfriend with a soft kiss. Their lips pumped gently against each other's, it wasn't the best kiss as they were both tired, but it felt intimate to them.

Emma pulled back slowly, leaving Regina to let out a soft, pathetic whimper. "Emma," she whispered softly tugging on the blonde's shoulder. Something wasn't right, and Emma could sense it, but why on earth would Regina feel the need to bring it up now? Emma blinked softly, trying to make out at least the silhouette of her girlfriend. The moon had shifted in the sky and it now wasn't in the window which made it harder to see Regina, but the sky was slowly becoming lighter. It didn't help much, but she could make out her the brunette's figure.

"What Regina?" She whispered softly, care in the tone of her voice. She shifted a little and placed her hand gently on Regina's wrist closest to her, but the brunette recoiled her arm swiftly. "I think we need to talk," Regina whispered softly, defiance in her voice, surprising Emma as it was early in the morning and the fact that Regina wouldn't let Emma touch her. "I found love once before Emma," she quipped softly, "I don't want to lose it again." Regina felt Emma shift so that she was sitting up more, and she could feel that she'd made some distance between them. Regina sighed softly, "Emma, I didn't mean to pull away from you dear, but I'm scared." She could hear Emma's soft breath, but she went on as Emma didn't say a word. "I just…just promise me," Regina swallowed hard, and Emma could tell the usual rude Regina, was now softening and she was restraining tears, "I won't lose you." Emma placed a hand gently on the brunette's shoulder, "Regina don't be foolish."

"Emma promise!"

"Regina, you're being silly."

"No I'm bring reasonable," Regina's voice had a tinge of annoyance.

"Regina."

"Emma, please."

"Okay, I promise."

"Good." Regina's voice softened again, stress subsiding.

"Now sleep."

There was silence for a moment as Emma had turned back the other way and begun to fall asleep again.

"Would you sign on it?"

"Regina."

"What?"

"Be quiet."

Regina chuckled softly as she shut her eyes and after a few moments fell into a deep sleep.
