A/N: Yet another one of my reoccurring BTR muses. I quite like this one but I wanted to see if anyone was is interested in it, because I love feedback. This is just a small taste of the fic, kinda like a preview. So let me know what you guys think

Pairing: Major Kames with some minor Cargan (like basically all my work)

Rated M for sexual situation, drug use, underage alcohol consumption and a lot of swearing

Kendall Knight would never forget the night he met James Diamond.

The thick LA air engulfed him as he climbed onto the rooftop of the apartment building he newly resided in. It was a nice, warm night; a type he'd never experienced in Minnesota. The freezing cold back home was now replaced with a deep warmth of his new home. He was still trying to adjust to it all. He'd come up to the rooftop of the 20 story building to clear his head and take a moment to breathe. His mom always said that "when life gets too hard, just take a breath and the whole world would slow down."

With this deep breath he took, the world didn't slow down. It instead sped up, at an alarming rate. Expecting only to see the clear night sky, Kendall was shocked to see someone else was up there too. It wasn't until he realized the stranger was walking along the ledge of the building. He seemed to be peering over the edge recklessly, obviously apathetic to the extreme danger it held.

It was dark; he honestly couldn't see who this person was or the emotions they were expressing. All he knew was they were on the ledge and he was the only person around who could possibly stop them from doing whatever they were doing or about to do up there. His heart started racing at an insane pace as the adrenaline pumped through his system. It wasn't every day something like this happened.

"Hey!" he called to this mystery person. It wasn't the most comforting or convincing words but it was all he could come up with at such short, abrupt notice. "What are you doing?"

"What does it look like I'm doing?" came the other guy's sarcastic response. He had a surprisingly smooth, deep voice and Kendall found himself unexplainably enticed by it.

"C'mon man," he yelled, trying to rack his brain to find any words that would dissolve this situation and make it better. "Step back...you've got-"

"So much to live for?" he snapped, interrupting him suddenly. "Fuck you. What do you know?" The stranger spat, stepping down from the ledge and brushing past him angrily.

Kendall liked to think that was the night he saved James' life, a first of many.
