Her powers were, generally, overlooked. A quick entrance, a hasty retreat. Nothing more. Most people didn't know what she was capable of, especially Sabertooth. Kitty was walking through the park when he tried to kidnap her. Sabertooth thought that if he kidnapped Kitty, it would lure Wolverine to him. He didn't know that Kitty would put up such a fight. He grabbed her arm, viciously, and slung her over his shoulder. However, she phased out of his grasp and punched him in the back of the head. He lunged at her, but she evaded him again causing him to fall to the ground. But he was back on his feet, in no time. She started running towards the wooded area, phasing through trees and branches. Unfortunately, she lost focus and slammed into a branch. She didn't fall but this error gave Sabertooth enough time to grab her and slam her, hard, in to a tree. Kitty had had enough. The professor had been teaching her to phase parts of the air in to force fields, and she was about to try out this new ability. She created a large force field and blasted it at Sabertooth. He was propelled in to a tree but Kitty wasn't done. She began using the force field to phase him in to the tree. She left only his head out of the tree. Logan arrived shortly after this, but Kitty had already handled the problem.
