Natsume rested his head back against the Sakura tree, the cool bark only adding to the shivers that were running through his body because of the cold autumn air. His breath came out in short pants and his left arm was wrapped tightly around his stomach, the only part of his body that was warm, thanks to the scarlet liquid that refused to stop flowing out of the hole in his skin. The bullet had already been removed, but Natsume's energy was drained and he could barely keep himself awake never mind stand up and walk. He had considered cauterizing the wound using his Alice, but he was too exhausted and couldn't even bring himself to summon a simple flame in his palm.

"Natsume?" his head snapped up painfully, and he let out a grunt of discomfort, "Natsume, are you okay?"

Her legs came into his view first, followed by her face as she knelt next to him. Her face was highlighted by the moonlight, and her eyes were filled with a mixture of confusion and worry.

"Natsume it's the middle of the night, what are you doing out here?" She inquired softly; the blood staining his skin went unnoticed in the darkness

"I could ask you the same thing, Polka dots." Natsume rasped out, his tired eyes staying trained on her face

Mikan pouted at him and leaned forward, her hand moving to rest on the lower part of his stomach, which caused Natsume to hiss in pain and a loud gasp to escape her own mouth.

"Natsume! Are you bleeding? I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!" her hand flew away from his body as quickly as possible and her features etched into a look of absolute panic, "Why haven't you gone to the hospital? Natsume you could die! You're bleeding!"

"Shut up Polka," He growled out, allowing his bangs to cover his face and hide his pained expression as the grip he had on the material of his top tightened, "I'm fine; you should go back to your room."

"Baka!" she shouted, and he glanced up through his hair to see her standing above him, her arms crossed over her chest, "I'm not leaving you! If you won't go to the hospital, then I'll treat you myself!"

"Whatever." The last bits of his energy drained away, and he was fighting to keep his eyes open. He watched her as she paced slightly, her head bobbing up and down as she muttered quietly to herself.

"... I'll need bandages and a cloth and water and... I should have some in my room... I can get that..." Natsume's eyes fluttered closed, and Mikan finally turned her attention back to him, "I'll be right back Natsume, I promise! I'll bandage your wounds and you'll be good to go!"

There was a few seconds of silence, before he felt something warm and slightly damp press lightly against his cheek, and then sound of her running footsteps drifted quietly into distance until they couldn't be heard anymore.

"Stupid." He smiled lightly, not bothering to wipe his cheek where he could still feel the wetness from her lips.
