Shadows In the Dark

Chapter one:

Stepping into the doorway of my New York home brought flash backs of many open and closed doors, my family had an itch for just picking up and moving and most the time it was because of me. So to me moving every year or couple months was nothing because it was my life; what I was used to too, it was the path that had not only been chosen for me but it was the path that I had no problem leading. The penthouse was beautiful as usual, best for the best; enough room for our vampire coven and the typical place for my family. I was pulled out of my thoughts by my brother Peter, "Here we go again." He sarcastically stated. Laughing as I look into his red eyes, "Yes, here we go again." Peter kissed my forehead before proceeding down the halls with our bags. Peter was always there for me whenever I needed him, even if he was right there with me. Snapping out of it, I followed down the hall to the last door. Opening up the door I found my room, as beautiful as ever I knew that this room had been made for me. A King size bed set by the window, where the most beautiful view captured my eye. My antique desk that I always brought when ever we would pack up and leave facing a corner by the line of book shelves. The room was a beautiful pale pink with a romantic style theme; I absolutely adored it. "I see you are getting acquainted with your room?" My Father said from the door. I turned and looked at Marcus my father, "Yes, Father I loved it!" jumping and giving him a hug. "Well I'm glad you like it." He said, chuckling to himself. Marcus the leader of our coven was also my biological father. My mother Renee while human had met my father back in the eighteenth hundreds and they had been together ever since they had me. "Don't forget family meeting in five minutes, in the library." He reminded me before closing the door. Great Another family meeting, I groaned; just what I needed. Just a reminder of my mistakes and future path.

Five minutes later I meet my family in the library, we did this every time we started over, this would be my last time moving. For now on I would remain in New York City, for the path that had been chosen for me, was to take over as the Queen of the vampire race. There they all set at our long table, "Let's get this over with." I said we no enthusiasm. "Bella, cheer up! This is our last move." My sister Alice said. "Shut it Pixie!" I joked.

Alice glaring at me playfully, "Girls this is important! There is no time for playing around." Father sternly glared, "Isabella in four months you will reign and we have a lot of things to go over." Sitting up I nodded, "Yes, Father." Everyone's head dropping, my sibling all learned the hard way that when Father meant business he meant business; he was right this was very serious and I need to start seeing the situation that way.

"Ok, what it first on the agenda?" I made the mistake of asking.

"Finding you a husband." Jasper stated, smirking.

"WHAT!"I screamed, that is one thing that I always knew would come, but I wasn't quite ready to accept.

"Now Isabella, you've known this day has been coming since the day you were born." My mother told me.

"I know." Looking into her eyes, "Well I guess we can leave it up to Charles." I said before looking away.

Charles was the current leader of all the vampire covens, and he himself had chosen me when I was a baby to take over after him. "I think that is acceptable, meeting adjourned." Father said before everyone excused themselves from the table, leaving me there to think of the great future ahead of me.

Sadly I don't own Twilight
