Once-ler huddled under the blanket of his bed, shivering. The harrowing experience of having his bed going down the river, and almost dying permanently had disconcerted him.

The cold temperature outside and the emotional stress had shaken him up. The past few days had been a very eventful; finding the perfect place to make his Thneed, setting up his living quarters, meeting the Lorax and the animals, making his first Thneed, being warned by the Lorax, waking up with his bed in the river…dying.

The constant stream of thoughts, both the good and bad would not stop replaying in his head. Denying him sleep and a peace of mind.

Fortunately for Once-ler, he finally fell asleep. Unfortunately falling asleep didn't end his pain because it made him endure a nightmare.

In his nightmare everything was black except for himself and his bed.

Suddenly his body began to morph. He looked at his hands; they were expanding and turning white. He wanted to scream, but he couldn't. He was paralysed with fear. His whole body was turning into a marshmallow rapidly. Soon he turned into a big marshmallow with his eyes, mouth and nose at the front of the marshmallow so he could see what would happen next. The Lorax appeared in his normal form but slowly his body grew until he was gigantic. He had red glowing eyes. With a cruel voice he cackled.

"I'm going to eat you Beanpole."

The Lorax then picked up Once-ler squeezed him and ate him. Then a substantial amount of water crashed into the Lorax and engulfed him and he disappeared. The water then stopped moving violently, slowed down to a gentle stream and faded into darkness. Ending the nightmare and allowing Once-ler to rest.

Once-ler woke up surprised to see lots of animals in his house and on his bed. Including the Lorax.

Despite the nightmare last night, Once-ler felt a lot of warmth and love toward the animals. Even though he had cut down one of their trees, they had forgiven him and had still chosen his house to sleep in. Sure it could be because there was nowhere else to go but he wasn't alone anymore, people cared about him. Their presence was comforting and reassuring. It was like a warm hug from mom after a nightmare. Even though Once-ler felt a little bit annoyed at them he still loved them and were glad they were there.
