Astrid and Hiccup sat in their room, listening to the rain hit the roof of the house. Their dragons Blaze and Toothless were in their stable with their little dragoness Ember, who slept uncomfortably in between her parents. The now Chief Hiccup Haddock III, looked at his wife for a year and smiled. 19-year-old Astrid looked confused at her 19-year-old husband and asked, "What?
Continuing to smile Hiccup said, "It's funny, I've heard, seen and done some strange things in my life."
Astrid smiled back and said, "Yeah I guess that's true. If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have befriended the dragons."
"And yet, there's one thing I haven't seen or heard." Hiccup said causing Astrid to look confused again and Hiccup smiled, "You sing."
Astrid pushed her bangs out of her hair and said, "Actually you almost heard me sing." It was Hiccup's turn to be confused as Astrid explained, "It was after you and Toothless defeated the Red Death. I went on the boat home with you and Toothless and I kind of sang to you."
"Well that's not fair, I couldn't hear anything." Hiccup whined. "Can you sing again?"
Astrid face turned and she yelled, "No way!"
"Aw, come on, please?" Hiccup pleaded like a little child.
After pleading for ten minutes Astrid gave up and said, "Alright, alright, you win. I'll sing the same song I sang to you five years ago."
Astrid took a deep breath and then began to sing, "Spend all your time waiting for that second chance In the arms of an Angel, far away from here So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn In the arms of an Angel, far away from here
for the break that will make it ok
there's always some reason to feel not good enough?
And it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction, oh beautiful release
Memories seep from my veins
They maybe empty and weightless, and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here
There's vultures and thieves at your back
The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack
It don't make no difference, escaping one last time
It's easier to believe
In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees
From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie
In the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here.
You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here.
In the arms of the Angel, may you find some comfort here."
Once Astrid finished singing, Hiccup stared at her. He then smiled and said, "I knew it. You are a great singer."
Astrid smiled and said, "Thanks, and I have a little something to tell you." Hiccup tilted his head in confusing and Astrid said, "I'm pregnant."
Hiccup ran up to her and gave her a hug. He then exclaimed with a smiled, "That's wonderful news! We should tell the entire village tomorrow at breakfast!"
The rain started to slow down and the two fell asleep in each other's arms. Inside the dragons' stable, little Ember was sleeping easier and Blaze purred, 'I guess its good we heard Astrid singing from out here.'
Toothless nodded and lowly growled, 'Agreed, we should get some sleep as well.'
The two dragons lowered their heads to the ground and fell asleep.
