Kurt sighed, walking into the garage in a hopeless attempt to find somebody, anybody. "Is anyone here?" He called out for the dozenth time.

"Hold on, I'll be with you in a second." A voice called making Kurt sigh in relief. Thank God. Rachel would kill him if he was late to her celebration party.

Out of nowhere a guy just a bit shorter than him appeared, wiping grease off his hands. He had smudges of it on his cheek and chin as well, making Kurt notice the slight scruff the other had. The guy-because this was definitely not a boy-had brownish-green eyes and dark curly hair. His coveralls were pulled down from the waist up, revealing arm muscles and what looked to be at least a fourpack hidden behind a wifebeater. His black Chuck Taylor's were scruffed up, but looked like they'd toughed it out.

Kurt shook the guy's hand politely, introducing himself.

"I'm Blaine Anderson. What exactly's your problem?" He asked as Kurt led him back to his car.

"I don't know. It just won't start, I had to have it towed here. My friend Rachel will skin me alive if I'm late to her party, and it's giving me tons of trouble."

"Well, I'll take a look under the hood." Blaine said, smiling as he did just that. Kurt attempted to start it a couple times, but failed at each attempt. The mechanic tinkered with his tools, eventually signaling to Kurt to try again.

To the singer's relief, it started, and Blaine closed the hood, walking over and leaning into the rolled down window. "That's only a temporary fix, so you'll need to come back in as soon as possile so I can fix it for real. If it breaks down or anything, call me, I'll come out and fix it temporarily again. Blaine told him, pulling a business card out of a pocket Kurt hadn't seen and handed it to him. "I'll charge you after I actually fix this thing, so for now you're set."

"Thank you so much." Kurt said, almost sad to leave. Kurt pulled out his own business card that he'd ordered recently and handed it to him. "Just call me sometime. You seem cool, I'd love to get to know you more."

"Pssh, you just want a free mechanic." Blaine teased, smiling. "Off ya go, Kurt, since I'm guessing you're already late." Kurt nodded and pulled out a twenty.

"Here. That's for the temp fix. You've probably saved my life." Kurt said, grinning, and drove off. Blaine watched, not turning when his brother walked up. "You could've fixed that in five minutes." Daniel said, crossing his arms over his chest. Blaine turned, hitting the other in the chest with his rag.

"And then I wouldn't have a cute guy's number. Your point?" He asked, returning to tinkering on the Impala he'd been under before Kurt arrived.
