Author's Note: Okay, here's a little update for yawl. I'm trying trying trying trying trying! to update my stories, but with finals only next week, and the terrible writer's block I've been suffering from, I don't think there will be an update within the next two weeks. But I promise you I am trying!

This was written because, I have finals next week, and I'm you know, freaking out, so I was wondering how Mark would respond to finals.

No Mark isn't stupid, he just got so scared and wound up, he forgot things. Just like I have, but then, I always pull through with a good grade.

Finals

Mark sat down in his chair biting his nails hard. Math Semester Final, was the title at the top of the page. 'I'm going to fail. I'm terrible at finals! They can't expect my to do this!' His mind raced as he tried to think of a way to get out of the testing. 'I could, fake sick…no wait, last time I did I really did get sick, I don't want to throw up on my test.' He bit his lip hard and looked around the room. Roger was sitting a seat away from him, he seemed completely calm. Roger was better than Mark in math, he always was. Mark sighed and looked around the room again. Maureen was sitting in the front with her paper, two pencils, booklet, and answer key all lined up perfectly. 'Perfectionist.' Mark sighed and his foot began to shake. He was waiting for the dreaded words.

"You may begin, now." The teacher's voice said.

Mark sighed and opened up the booklet. He read the directions and looked at the first question. It read: Find the value of y so that the line passing through the two points has a given slope.

(0, -2), (2, y), m = 3

Mark's heart sank; he had completely neglected studying slopes of the line. The teacher had said they wouldn't be that big on the test, but here it was, the first question.

He whimpered softly and felt himself crying. His tears fell onto his scratch paper as he tried to keep them from falling. After a couple of minutes he felt something hit his shoe. Mark glanced over at Roger, but he was hard at work, at least, he made it seem like he was. Mark looked to the floor and saw a piece of paper by his foot. He dropped his pencil and reached down to the floor, gathering up the pencil and the paper.

When the teacher's back was to him he opened it up and read it. 4

Mark looked to the booklet and read the answers options for number one.

a. 10

b. 4

c. 6

d. 1

Mark smiled weakly to Roger, and went to his answer sheet filling b.

The rest of the test went by pretty quickly, it amazed Mark that Roger knew every problem he was having trouble with and would toss him the answer.

When the test was over he walked over to Roger and gave him a hug. "Thanks, you saved my ass."

"Let go Mark." Roger said as he pried him off. "It's what friends do." He laughed and ruffled Mark's hair before walking with him to lunch.

Two weeks later, Mark's results finally came in the mail. He bit his lip hard when he saw the envelope and looked at his score for Math. 389. Next to the number it said: Advanced.

Mark smiled happily and showed his scores to his mom. He owed Roger big time for helping him.

Author's Note: Kinda crap ending I know… But I like it.
