A/N: This story is quite short. It's almost like my non-Harry Potter story; just it's simple, very simple. Well, as usual, there's gotta be tears…or so I think, bcoz it's quite sad. I really put an effort on this so I hope it's good enough!

The Aftermath

Hermione entered the common room to grab some of her stuff to shower. Harry wasn't there, Ron wasn't there, and no one that cared for her was there. Harry didn't return to school since 6th year, Ron had followed Harry suit. Lavender refused to come back to Hogwarts since Hogwarts was no longer safe without Dumbledore. Parvati didn't want to come back as she had no other friends. Neville's grandmother made him stay with her as she wanted to see him all the time, Dean joined Harry's team and Seamus's mother had forbidden him to come back to Hogwarts. Hermione came back to Hogwarts because she didn't want her parents to know that the war between evil and good had started.

"It's not fair! Why take everything I own?" Hermione shouted in the prefect's toilet.

No one was there except her. Half of Hogwarts student didn't come back to Hogwarts for this year. Many who came back dropped out. It was 2 weeks to summer break.

"ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? FOR WHAT YOU CAUSED?" Hermione shouted.

Hermione had meant to say that to Voldemort. Everything that's happening now was because of one person-Voldemort.

Tears started streaming down Hermione's cheeks. What in the world had she done to deserve this?

Hermione turned off the shower. She got out of her cubicle and dressed quickly.

Hermione walked round the lake for a few times. She was reminded of how students would enjoy sitting by this lake but now, it was empty. No one dared to go outside for the war had begun now. She stared at that lake; the very same lake Krum had pulled her out during the second task. The very same lake Hermione came to let go of her thoughts. The very same lake she told her problems to.

Hermione couldn't take it anymore. It reminded her too much of how it was before Voldemort had risen again. Now that history is repeating itself, no one can find peace. She spun around to find Harry looking at her.

"This lake really brings out a lot of memories," Harry said, staring at the lake.

"Harry! What are you doing here?" Hermione asked happily.

"To take you," Harry answered simply.

"What took you so long!" Hermione asked, sobbing.

"I had some difficulties," Harry said.

"Let's go, let me pack my stuff," Hermione said. Harry nodded.

When they were ready, Harry took out a penknife.

"What are you going to do with that?" Hermione asked.

"Watch," Harry replied.

Harry walked to a tree and carved something. It says:

Best Years at Hogwarts

1999-2005

Golden Trio

"Did I tell you Ron died?" Harry said.

"What?" Hermione shouted.

"He got murdered by Malfoy," Harry said sadly.

"But at least he died fighting," Hermione added.

"He died a hero," Harry corrected.

"It's just you and me now," Hermione sighed.

"Just you and me," Harry repeated.

And just like that, Harry and Hermione left Hogwarts. Leaving behind the best times of their life. Although Hogwarts was burned down by Death Eaters a few days after that, the tree Harry carved the writing still remained. The Death Eaters tried everything to chop it down but every time they tried, someone died. They then gave up hope. Harry, Hermione and the rest of the wizarding world would burry their memories in Hogwarts deep in their heart. Their own special memories. And no one, not even the greatest wizard in earth can take that away from them.
