No Idea.
A Tithe Fanfiction

"Come."
Roiben heard the words, cold and amused at his pain. The creamy white hand reached out to him, ruby red talon like nails long and sharp. Roiben walked, uncaring of the stares of the Unseelie Court, and fell to his knees before the Queen.
Not his Queen.
Never would she be his Queen.
Nicnevin placed a cool hand on his warm cheek. He forbade himself to look into her eyes. Her cunning icy blue eyes, not permit them to bore their way into his mind, and destroy him.
His Queen's eyes where so different. Soft and green, like the great leaves on the willow that she often lounged below.
"My dearest knight. You have performed the task that I set you with immense skill. I congratulate you," Nicnevin's flowing voice was all that he could hear. He had drowned out the taunting screams of the Unseelie monsters.
For that is what they where. Monsters. They would forever be below him.
"A thousand thank-yous, my Lady," Roiben spoke, his lips moving, his mind unaware of what was taking place. Nicnevin tilted her head slightly to one side, her wine coloured hair shifting slightly over her shoulders.
"Yet, I find you are not satisfied with my congrats. Is this true, knight?" she asked, taunting him. Calm Roiben, he told himself. Do not sink to her taunts. Nicnevin's lips curled into a luxurious smile.
"You killed the hob that stole the cake from my table, did you not?" she questioned, her voice becoming clipped now. Roiben nodded, his silver hair still draping over his face. It wasn't hiding anything. His face was set in stone, a mask of no emotion.
"And I was satisfied. Yet, you seemed not. So, I think that I have a new task for you to take," Nicnevin levelled herself with Roiben, bringing her beautiful eyes level with his equally beautiful ones.
"Finish the job."
Roiben did not understand.
"Pardon, my Lady?" he asked, unsure of what she wanted to do.
"You heard me. Go to the forest. Do not return to me, until you have the heads of thirteen solitary fey, that have wronged me in some way. You know who they are, and I would like to see them punished. Then perhaps, you will be satisfied." Nicnevin finished, her lips playing a cruel smile, that made Roiben want to run her through with his sword right there.
The Queen of Filth set him tasks to destroy more innocent fey. No more blood would be shed. When would Silarial tell him he had earned the right to become her consort? Or would she leave him here forever, until his heart became as black as Nicnevin's?
"It is my honour to serve you, my Lady," Roiben stood and bowed. Nicnevin smiled in delight.
"Oh, he speaks so prettily, doesn't he?" she said to one of her handmaidens.
As Roiben made his way to the forest, made his way to the place, where he knew he could escape from this house of Satan- he had no idea.
He had no idea that he would be run through.
He had no idea, that when he called, lying dying in the rain, someone would come.
He had no idea, that she- Kaye- would change his life forever.
No.
Roiben had no idea.
This was born from my undying love for Roiben (who beats Edward Cullen out with a big stick every time :P) and from my curiosity as to why he was in the forest when Kaye met him :) Thanks for reading. Please review :)
