Echo

Temple or the girl of his dreams. Clay chose Kimiko.

Close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
(Asking why)

Clay closed his eyes and took a cleansing breath. He felt like he was running, something he hated to do. He should be fighting for his right to be with Kimiko AND stay at the temple; but he was running, just as Kimiko, and Master Fung had told him to do.

I think about your face
And how I fall into your eyes
The outline that I trace
Around the one that I call mine
Time that called for space
Unclear where you drew the line
I don't need to solve this case
And I don't need to look behind

His relationship with Kimiko was complicated, but one thing was for sure, he did what she asked, he loved her after all.

Close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
(Asking why)

Kimiko and Clay still hadn't found a place to stay, they had been walking side by side away from the temple. Kimiko closed her eyes and took a breath, trying to think about other things, wishing this moment would pass.

Do I expect to change, the past I hold inside,
with all the words I say,
repeating over in my mind,
somethings you can't erase, no matter how hard you try,
an exit to escape is all there is left to find.

She couldn't change what happened. To be honest she didn't know if she would. If she and Clay had never exchanged 'I love you's, then they wouldn't be in this mess. They would find a way out though, she knew it.

Close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo in my mind
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo can subside
(I know I always loved you)
(I know I always loved you)
(I know I always loved you)

All the 'I love you's ran through the two monk's head, echoing in their ears. The damaged pride of Clay began to fade. Kimiko's insecurity slipped away as well.

So I close my eyes
Let the whole thing pass me by
There is no time
To waste asking why
I'll run away with you by my side
I'll run away with you by my side
I need to let go, let go, let go, let go of this pride,
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo in my mind
Until this echo, echo, echo, echo can subside

"I love you, Clay"

"I love you too, Kimiko"

I don't usually like stuff like this, I don't like writing stuff about getting kicked out of the temple for a relationship, I think its stupid; but I think this turned out okay…
