A/N: This is a weird little one-shot I wrote in a matter or minutes. It ain't pretty and it sure isn't very long but it's what I wrote. There's a good chance I'll add to it later but for now enjoy!
p.s: Criticism is very helpful since I often don't know what the hell I'm doing.
Disclaimer: I Don't Own Kingdom Hearts, or Riku and Sora for that matter. They belong to Square enix and Disney. Now please leave me as I cry x3

With the night still black and the moon still high, he was like the shadow creeping over the white orb's sleeping face. The spiked shadow raced to his precious spot. He ran across dew-damp lawns and mile high fences; through filthy, damp back alleys and brightly lit streets. Our brunette hero was desperate. Desperate to halt something, run away from something and lose the thoughts that plagued his mind. His thoughts were like a poison for his innocent heart, if it was innocent that is. After all, his feelings weren't natural, did that mean he wasn't either? Sora could not answer that question. Instead he ran, far off into the night. He silently prayed that he would not find the silver haired being in his secret place. When the air in his lungs ran out and he had to rest, Sora allowed himself to think. Just for a moment he wondered (prayed) that the object of his desires would not appear...
Sora didn't like keeping secrets after all, it burned his insides to withhold information from the people he loved. Holding his desires secret, however, proved to be nearly fatal and resulted in a blurted confession. When Sora heard the quiet gasp and looked up from the linoleum's patterns into his his friend's widened eyes, he broke. His poor, inexperienced heart just couldn't take it. His chest hurt from the repeated pounding and he doubled over. Sora's lithe, tiny body ached all over and he wanted out of there.
Riku was rooted to the ground in shock and Sora could not stand it. He had to escape, the wordless response of his ocean eyed best friend was killing him, so he ran. Sora never knew that his confession of a simple "I Love You" could force the silver haired male known as Riku into shock. But Sora's words did and Riku couldn't find the strength to voice his reply. His inner held love for Sora.
His eyes clouded over, like murky sea water before a storm as he watched his best friend's cinnamon coloured spikes blur out the door. By then, he only wished Sora could hear him as he whispered silently into the welcoming darkness.
"I love you too....." and he shut the door, hoping that his friend would be back tomorrow so he could tell him the words he wished to hear...

A/N: Yeah as you can tell it's very short. My brain decided that this was good enough for my first one-shot of Sora and Riku. If you have any advice please, it's always welcome by me =]
