RWBY and JNPR stood trapped in Ozpin's office, pointing their weapons at the door. Beacon had been attacked and the two teams had retreated as much as they could, but now, there was no escape. They were outmanned and outgunned.
"See ya on the other side, Rubes." Yang said, turning to her sister.
"Yeah."
RWBY and JNPR opened fire on the White Fang forces as the door came down, Yang bad noticed that Ruby had so suddenly disappeared from her peripheral vision, but just assumed that she had used her semblance.
They all noticed that they were feeling stronger than ever, being able to move faster, jump higher, and they all had more stamina.
Once they cleared out the room, they still weren't feeling fatigue like they usually did, especially after fighting so hard.
"Where's Ruby?" Blake asked.
They all looked around, but only saw Crescent Rose laying on Ozpin's desk. Jaune pulled out his scroll to call her, and saw that he had a message from the school, so he opened it and turned his volume up, the other turning towards him when Ruby's voice shot out. "Hey, guys." She said. "If you're hearing this, that means you did it. You won. You kicked the shit out of Cinder's forces. . Knew you could." She took a deep breath. "But this is my last stop. When I came to this school, I was broken, trying to be someone I wasn't, but you guys, gave me my own voice, made me my own person. My memories at this school are the best I've ever had. All of these things, make me who I am. But they're also holding me back. Your aura's aren't strong enough. I can't save you guys. But, if I erase these memories, if I destroy my aura. The fragments I'll leave behind will have the strength to get you through this. I believe that. I wish there was another way, but I'm leaving this message, as well as others to make you understand why I have to go this time." She nervously laughed. "Y'know. It was Jaune who made me realize something I'd never thought of before; there are so many stories where some brave hero gives their life to save the day. And because of their sacrifice, the day is saved and all the survivors cheer. And everyone lives happily ever after. But the hero never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end." Her voice cracked. " They just have to have faith…And ain't that a bitch?"
"Yeah." Yang said, holding back the tears.
"How could she have done all this in the matter of several seconds?" Pyrrha asked.
"She can freeze time. It's part of her semblance."
Three Months Later...
Ruby stood on a cliff, overlooking her enemy's base, when someone from beside her asked, "What are they doing now?"
She turned to them. "God Damn," she said. "I am so sick of answering that damn question!"
"Hey, man. You're the one with the sniper, I can't see shit. Don't bitch at me, I'm not gonna sit up here and play with my dick all day." He said.
"Fine. They're standing there, and talking. That's what they were doing last week, that's what they were doing when you asked me five minutes ago, that's all they ever do!"
"..."
"..."
"What're they talking about?"
"You know what? I fucking hate you."
