A/N: Carter's not mentioned much because I don't know his character, but I did my best xD!
For Katie! Sorry it's so late! And so short, hope you like it! And er…Merry Christmas?

Together

Katie watched Carter with a secret smile. She liked him, a fact that she would deny if any one asked her, but a fact she couldn't deny to herself. She felt like she owed her life to Carter, he had saved her. Gisbourne had wanted to take her in when she couldn't pay some new tax the Sheriff had brought in, and she knew capture by Gisbourne and the Sheriff was a fate worse than death. Carter had seen Gisbourne try to take her and stopped him. He now had a bruised eye and cut hand from the fight, but of course Gisbourne had come off worse.

As Katie watched Carter he was washing the cut on his hand, ready to put a clean bandage over it. It wasn't just that he had saved her that she liked about him, it was everything. He seemed like a truly great man. She didn't know much about him, just that he had fought in the Holy Land, and once been recruited by the Sheriff. Despite knowing he had once worked for the Sheriff, she couldn't be wary of him, because the fact still remained that he had saved her life.

She thought he was somewhat cute, maybe not every girls' type but definitely hers. He had short hair, a natural blonde colour and a sort of innocent looking face. Sweet, trustworthy, loyal. He looked exactly how he was.

She knew Carter could've left her after saving her, she knew he could've just got her out and that be it. The fact that he didn't showed just how amazing he was. He made sure she was ok as soon as he'd gotten her safe from Gisbourne, and then stuck with her, making sure to keep her save.

She could've found the way he was acting a bit patronising or tedious. She wasn't some damsel in distress, she could look after herself, she wasn't stupid. But it wasn't like that at all. Carter respected her, he was protective but he knew when to let her fight for herself.

He wasn't appear of her watching him the whole time as he put the new bandage. Katie knew the cut wasn't too serious, but it was better to be safe than sorry, which is why she had insisted he put on a new bandage even though he just wanted to take the old one off and leave it.

Katie sighed to herself, she's had enough of this. She had been thinking about doing this for quite a while, now it was on her mind again and this time she wasn't going to talk herself out of it. Carter had just finished putting the bandage on, Katie stood up and walked over to him. Without saying a word Katie kissed him…

…It was only a moment before Carter returned the kiss.
