Ship: Percy/Piper

Prompts:
scenario- alone at night
color- wispy red

Percy finds himself seated outside cabin six, Athena's cabin. He silently prays for Athena not to blast him for going so close to her cabin.

(Athena ignores him, she's too busy grieving for her lost daughter too.)

The harpies know better than to disturb the grieving campers. Which is, to say, all the campers. Chiron, the immortal teacher of heroes, and Ella, the harpy with wispy red feathers, warn them that.

(Sadly.)

Totally not creepy at all, he thinks to himself. I'm totally not being a stalker on how my dead girlfriend's family is coping with her death.

Annabeth.

(His wise girl.)

The name brings so many memories to his mind. One of their underwater kiss, one of walking through Tartarus with her, one of her saving his sorry ass every single time... The list could go on for days.

(So so many memories.)

She's dead.

(Dead, probably happy in Elysium.)

The stupid sacrificial idiot (funny, since that's what she used to call him) was dead. Gone. Gone in Leo's flames with Leo and Jason.

Never.

Coming.

Back.

(Never coming back, ever.)

Percy winces. He knows that, but he's in denial. He won't admit it, he still insists on believing the lies he tells himself.

(Just lies.)

At that point, he finally notices that he's alone in the deep dark night, no one to save him from himself.

(All alone.)

Piper finds herself curled up in cabin one, sleeping next to Thalia (in a completely sisterly way), her ex-boyfriend's sister. She's being selfish, but she wants him next to her instead of his sister. The empty hole in her heart's only growing deeper with every second without Jason.

(Can it ever possibly be repaired?)

Visions of wispy red blood, her and Percy's screams as orange and yellow flames burst in the air, those visions haunt her when ever she close her eyes.

(Like nightmares, though she's not asleep yet.)

The night is dark, Thalia's asleep (though by the sounds of it she's having a nightmare) and even though Piper has company, she still feels alone.

(Because that's how it is.)

Thalia soon wakes up, gasping and breathing deeply. She calms herself and chases Piper out of cabin one (Thalia just wants to feel some sort of familiarity to Jason for one night), not wanting to disrupt her sleep. Little does she know, Piper hasn't slept at all in the first place.

(But Thalia doesn't need to know.)

Piper escapes to the lakeside, where she meets another grieving demigod, the raven-haired, green-eyed son of Poseidon.

(Coincidence? I think not.)

Percy and Piper have a nice heart-to-heart, though both are distracted by each other.

Percy knows Piper was Annabeth's best friend and Piper knows Percy was Jason's best friend. And they both can't help looking for similarities between each other and their significant other.

As the sun rises and a wispy red colours the horizon, they both have an epiphany.

They find what they're looking for and they get together.

(It isn't the healthiest relationship but they can't help but keep it that way.)

They're the only people stopping each other from going insane, but they're barely there.

(If there's one last blow… who knows what will happen to them?)
