Chapter One:
One or Two?
It was almost time for our show. Vixen was putting on her costume. I was already in my costume and had all my make-up on. I scanned the crowd from the shadows. There were a lot of people, then again it is our first performance in the Elchea Kingdom. It really is no wonder there's a big crowd. After Vixen and I joined this circus, it has become famous because of our act. We are known throughout Disboard as The Wonder Twins: Flora and Fauna.
I searched for our older brother. He said he would come to see our show; which is quite unusual. You see, our brother is quite famous, actually, the most famous being in all of Disboard. Meaning that he has to put on a disguise when he's out in public. The problem is he didn't tell us what his disguise was going to be. I let out a small sigh of disappointment. I kept looking for anyone else that I might know. Then something peculiar caught my eye. There was a Flügel in the crowd. She looked so out of place surrounded by the mass of imanity. What was a Flügel doing in Elchea? I had finally gotten over the Flügel when I saw something else that was out of place: an Elf. She was wearing a cloak to hide her ears, but I could see one of them poking out from under her hood. Why was there an Elf and Flügel at our show? I was pondering this when out of nowhere, Vixen grabs my shoulders. I jumped and nearly shrieked.
"VIXEN! You know I get scared easily!" I shouted at my sister. She laughed then quickly teased, "Cheshire, if you know I'm the Goddess of Treachery, why do you give me these opportunities?" then she fell on the floor completely consumed by her giggling. I rolled my eyes and helped her back on her feet. She dusted herself off and suddenly became serious. Even though Vixen does this constantly, it always surprises me. My twin looked me in the eye and grabbed my hand.
"It's time," She said. I nodded and we, holding hands, walked into the spotlight. I looked over at my sister, "It's time," I repeated. She squeezed my hand.
"Yeah...you ready?"
"When have I ever not been?" I said sarcastically with a smile. It was then that I saw them. The two famous siblings that big brother had been talking about. They both looked like his friends, the ones he had told us about so many times. These were the two that had beaten big brother. The tall one looked cunning and deceiving, as if he were a fox. The small one looked like a child, yet she was calm and seemed quite intelligent. I can see why you brought them here big brother. You always did like a challenge, didn't you...Tet.
Hi! I'm the author! My name is InfinityBreaker, but you can call me Fin. I just wanted to say that this chapter is much smaller than my normal chapters. I just really wanted to end on that cliffhanger! Also next chapter I will be going over the two main characters. Even though the story is told from Cheshire's point of view, the main characters are both of the twins. Well, this is goodbye for now. This is Fin, signing out.
