A gust of wind brushed against my face; it was gentle and perfumed with sweetness. I heard birds in the distance, the one you hear when the sun shines bright in the sky… My eyes opened, seeing an ocean of green before me; an ocean of dancing straws of grass, greener than any emeralds I ever saw. Another gust, much colder this time, trailed my face; telling me I should wake up. Shivers went down my spine as my fingers stretched… I was human again.
I felt as heavy as one could be; my body was sore, but more because it needed to stretch. It took me a second to realize I was laying on grass on my stomach, face covered with my long blond hair. I slowly sat up, listening to every sound a human body can make; bones, muscle, and even my breath. I looked down at myself, as I sat on my knees; I was wearing my white dress, my little lace detailed dress. I took a deep breath; the kind that reminds you that you're alive. I closed my eyes and took the music of the nature in; the warmth of the sun, the signing of the little blue birds, the flock of the butterfly and the choirs of the leaves dancing in the wind. What happened? I remember him, standing tall in front of me. He told me that he loved me… The bells rang and it all went black.
" Timpani? " I heard. I never noticed how low his voice was; I remembered how much I loved him.
I got up, bare feet, and turned around; there he was, my Blumiere. He walked up to me, after appearing behind the tree that shadowed me. The sun warmed my face at that moment; or maybe was it just my blushing. He passed his large hand behind my back, pulling me closer in an embrace that revived butterflies that looked like me in my stomach. An embrace that reminded me of many nights… His dark and mischievous eyes looked down at me; it was like I could see a whole other galaxy in them. His cane dropped in the tall grass as his right hand pushed strands of hair out of my pale face; slowly, as if he was making sure every hair was real. I smiled lightly; he sighed. I then saw his expression change; sorrow filling him.
" My darling… My sweet little bird, how I've missed you… I've missed you so. " He said while hugging me. The embrace was so tight; I smiled as he smelled my hair and place a hand on the back of my head to keep me close.
Petals of flowers surrounded us until he pulled me back to look at my face.
" I'm so sorry Timpani… I just- "
" Hush Blumiere. " I told him as my finger found his lips. His eyes smiled at me; he knew I forgave him.
He took my hand and then sat in the grass, inviting me on his lap. As I sat down, I examined his tired face. The Dark Prognosticus made him someone he didn't want to be, but everything was fine now; that's what I hoped for the least. He looked at me, head crooked to the side, and placed a daisy in my hair. He always did that, and I realized that I missed it.
I missed him.
He then oriented my face to his. The calmness of the moment… His scent and smile… A gust of wind pushed my hair, enveloping us, as if they wanted to shut the world out. He got closer, like he was unsure, and placed a delicate cold kiss on my lips. I removed his top hat and passed my fingers through his hair and place my forehead on his.
" I love you Blue. "
" I love you too, my little bird. "
" Are we going to be happy now ? "
" As long that we are together Timpani… "
I closed my eyes and sighed. He was right.
" We should get going. "
" Where ? "
" I have something to show you. "
We got up while he smiled at the confusion drawn on my face; took my hand the guided me through the plains, his hat and cane following behind us magically.
