Puyo Puyo: Moonstruck Summer Break
By TheBlackKid
Act 1 Prologue
"Alright, class. I know how much you all are excited about summer break. But you're still high school students. So don't do anything crazy. Got it?"
"Yes, Sensei."

"Alright. Enjoy your summer everyone."
As everyone started packing up their stuff, I was lost in my own thoughts on what to do this summer.
That's when…
"YES! SUMMER VACATION IS FINALLY HERE!"
"Ow. That really hurt, you know." I said to a girl who just yelled in my ear.
"Oops. Sorry."
"I see you're excited as ever." Said a girl who had joined our conversation.
"I can't help it! I've been waiting all year for this!"
"And you've been talking about it all year, too." Said a second girl who joined us.
"Yep! Pretty much!"
It's summer once again. I wonder how she spends her summer. Must be way different from us.
"Hey, are you okay?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah. I'm fine." I said.
Everyone was now staring at me like I had something to hide. And in all honestly…they're right.
"You're thinking about her again, aren't you?"
"H-Huh? I-I don't…"
"Oh, come on. There's no point in hiding it, Futaba Okazaki."
Damnit. I hate it when she talks like that.
"*sigh* Alright fine, Naoko. You got me. I was thinking of her."
"Wow. Can you believe that it's been one year since we last saw her?"
"Now that you mention it, Hinata…it is rather mind-blowing." I answered her.
"A year without her. Even though she was only here for a month, that's still sad."
"Wow, Rin. That's gotta be the first time you made a sad point." Naoko said.
"It's rather shocking." Hinata and I added.
"Hey!"
It was true. It really has been a year since Feli moved back to her world. Since then, we all moved up a grade. Now being second-years at Haranishi High School. While my brother Yuuta is a first-year here. The four of us are still in an all-girl class taught by Nakamura-sensei. And she just as cool of a teacher as she was last year.
But other than that, nothing's really changed. Our family still has the restaurant, those thugs are still in jail, some other third thing. Everything has been going fine since Feli left.
But…I really do miss her. I just wish I could see her again somehow.
"Oh. You four are still here. Are you going to miss your sensei that much?"
"Stop teasing us, Sensei." I said.
"Alright, alright. But really, though. What's holding you girls back? It is summer after all."
"W-Well…"
"She was thinking of you-know-who again." Naoko said.
"Y-You just love spilling secrets, do you?"
"It's my favorite pastime." Naoko then grew a cheeky smile on her face.
This girl…
"You-know-who?" Sensei asked. "Oh! You mean Kuromi-san! Geez, it's been a while. How long? Like a year at this point?"
"Yeah, pretty much." Hinata said.
"Do you miss her too, Sensei?" Rin asked.
"Yeah. I do. I'll admit, she was a weird one. But she managed to fit in with the rest of the class with little to no problems. I wonder how she's doing? Back in her world?"
"Her world…" I whispered to myself. Those words had got me thinking of something that, for some reason, I didn't think about one year ago. And it was suspicious.
"Hey, Sensei. Can I ask you something?"
"Sure, Okazaki-san. What's up?"
"Just…how did you know about Feli's world and how to get there?"
…
…
"Sensei."
"Well…"
"Yo. Futaba. What's taking so long?" At that moment, in came my younger brother Yuuta who, like I said, is a first-year at this school.
"Geez, Yuuta! You almost ruined the good part!" I yelled.
"The good part?" Yuuta was confused.
"Futaba suspects Sensei of knowing about Feli's world beforehand." Hinata explained.
"Feli's world?! Really?!"
"And now…the more this goes on, the more I wanna know as well."
"Yeah, me too." Naoko said.
"Come on, Sensei! Please tell us!" Rin yelled.
Sensei didn't respond right away. But after a sigh and a facepalm…
"Fine. I'll tell you. But you kids better keep it a secret. Not many people are supposed to know this."
We all cheered in celebration as we were about to learn the secrets of these different worlds.
"But…"
"Huh? But what?" I asked.
"We can't discuss it here. Too many people will hear. Find a place we could go, and I'll spill all."
"How about the restaurant? Would that work?" Yuuta asked.
"I guess. As long as no one bothers us."
"Not to worry, Sensei. It should be closing by now. Which give us all the time we need." I said with a smile on my face.
"Don't get too cheeky, Okazaki-san."
"We're here!" Both Yuuta and I said as our group walked inside our family's restaurant.
"Oh. Hello, you two. How was your last day?" Dad asked.
"Same as always." I said. "But it got interesting at the end."
"Interesting?"
"It's pretty much thanks to me, Mr. Okazaki." Sensei said.
"Ms. Nakamura? This is a surprise. For once, it's not Futaba causing something interesting."
W-Was that an insult or something?!
"We just need a place for her to explain it all. So we came here." I said.
"Pardon the intrusion, Sir." The other three girls and our teacher said in union.
"Not at all. We're about to close anyway. Hey, dear. Are you done in the back?"
…
"Miki?"
…
"Mom?" Yuuta and I called out.
…
"You don't think…" I asked.
"She better not." Dad said as he went to the back of the store with us following him. We eventually reached the breakroom where we could hear Mom's giggles from the other side.
So it could only mean one thing…
"*sigh*" Dad did a huge facepalm before opening the door. Revealing Mom with a stack of magazines while she was looking at one of them. She was so into them that it took her a while to notice that we were standing in the doorway.
*sigh* Damnit, Mom.
"Miki…" Dad said.
"Huh? O-Oh! H-Hello, everyone! Th-This isn't what it looks like!" Mom began to panic.
"No offense, Mrs. Okazaki. But it's EXACTLY what it looks like." Naoko said.
"Miki…how many of those maid magazines did you buy?" Dad asked.
"N-Not much. L-Like about…75."
"75?!" We all yelled in shock.
"Mom, why did you buy 75 of these magazines?!" Yuuta asked.
"*sigh* I just can't help it. Ever since Feli left, I haven't had anyone to try on the maid outfits that I get every month. And they're too small on me. So I can't try them on myself."
"Well, you could get Hinata to do it."
*POW*
"Shut up, Rin!" Hinata yelled after hitting Rin in the head.
"Well…I can only wonder if she's having a better time in her own world."
"Actually, Mom. That's the reason why we're all here." I said.
"Huh?"
"Sensei seems to know a lot about Feli's world and is going to explain it to us."
"Really now? This is very interesting of you, Ms. Nakamura."
"Yeah, yeah…wait, what do you mean very interesting?" Sensei asked. Looking quite insulted.
"Don't overthink it, Sensei." I said.
"It's best if you didn't." Yuuta added.
*ONE SESSION OF GRABBING SNACKS AND DRINKS LATER…*
"Alright. Is everyone ready? Once I tell you all this, there no going back."
"We're ready, Sensei!" Rin cheered.
"Just tell us already." I said.
"Alright, alright." Sensei did one last sigh before finally starting her confession. "Well…the reason why I knew about Feli's world before any of those events happened last year is…well…it's because I'm from there myself."
"WHAT?!" We all shouted. Well, most of us did. Mom and Dad stayed silent.
"S-Sensei…y-you're from the same world as Feli?!" Hinata asked.
"That's insane!" Naoko yelled.
"Yeah. It is. But not insane enough."
"Huh?" We were all confused.
"Well, you see…there's this woman in this world that I know really well. My, uh…twin sister. We just couldn't be in the same world anymore. So I came here. And have been here ever since."
"Wow! Sensei has a twin sister in a different world! So cool!" Rin yelled.
"So…how did you get here, Ms. Nakamura?" Dad asked.
"Through a type of wormhole that only activates during a solar eclipse."
"A solar eclipse…I think I remember Feli's friend Lidelle explaining it to us." I said.
"Oh, yeah. Didn't she say that it only happens for 7 ½ minutes at nighttime and only buses can get through it?" Hinata asked.
"Yeah, that does sound familiar."
"And that's exactly how it works." Sensei said.
"Uh, guys? Isn't the next solar eclipse…tomorrow?" Rin asked.
That's when we all fell silent. Then I grew a big smile on my face and jumped out of my seat.
"Holy crap, it is tomorrow! So that means…"
"H-Hold on, Futaba. Let's talk about this first." Dad said to me.
"Come on, Dad! You know how much I miss her! Seeing her again would make this the best summer ever! Please let me go!"
"We know how much you miss her, dear. But this is a different world we're talking about. We don't know what's over there."
"We just want you to be safe." Mom added.
"Come on. We already know people from there besides Feli. Two of them are even adults."
"Let's see…there's Amitie, Lidelle, Lemres, and Feli's older sister Mao." Naoko listed out the names.
"Plus I could get my twin sister to watch over her. And check in every once in a while. We'll make sure she's safe. No worries." Sensei said.
"See? Sensei's got it covered. So can I go, Mom and Dad? Please?" I was begging like a 5-year-old at this point.
Both Dad and Mom looked at each other before looking back at me with a smile.
"Alright, dear." Mom said.
"You can go." Dad said.
"Really?! I can?! Yes! Thank you guys SO much!" I cheered as I hugged my parents out of glee.
"Hey wait a second, Futaba." Rin said to me.
"What is it, Rin?"
"If you're going to see Feli, then I want in too!"
"Huh?!"
"What? You think you're the only one that misses Feli?" Yuuta asked.
"We're all her friends, too. So we want to tag along with you." Naoko said.
"Plus…it would be nice to go somewhere that isn't Japan for once." Hinata added.
"S-So…all of you want to go?" I asked. "W-Will that work, Sensei?"
"Well…I could make a few arrangements with my sister. But if I do that…Moriyama-san, Araki-san, Sugihara-san. You three cannot tell your families about this. So you better think of something so they could let you go. Understand?"
"Yes, Sensei." The three girls agreed.
"Well, then. I gotta go make some calls. See you guys tomorrow. Be ready by then, too."
"Thanks again, Sensei!" I yelled with more glee as our teacher walked out the restaurant. "Welp. I'm gonna go pack."
"But it's only 6:30." Yuuta said.
"The earlier the better, my dear younger bro. I'll text you girls later."
"Alright." The trio said before walking out the restaurant and on my way home. If you couldn't tell before this point, I'm super excited. As I'm about to see my best friend again for the first time in over a year.
I'm coming for you, Feli Kuromi!
Act 1-1 – Surprise Reunion
"Come on…"
"Come on…"
"Almost there…"

"YES! SUMMER IS HERE!"
"You know we can hear you, right?" I said to Amitie, who was talking to herself while staring at the clock at school.
"Wait. So that wasn't in my head?"
"No, Amitie. It wasn't."
"And I've got an earache to prove it." Raffina added while rubbing her ear in pain.
"S…Sorry…everyone." Amitie blushed a little from embarrassment as she sat back down in her seat.
"*sigh* Poor, poor Amitie. Always making a fool of hersel…"
*BONK*
"Ow!"
"Shut it, jerkwad." Raffina said after throwing a hard object at him.
"M-Ms. Accord! Did you see what she just did?!"
"Yes, Klug. I did see." Ms. Accord said.
"It was a nice throw, wasn't it, meow?" Popoi asked.
"I don't care about the throw!" Klug then turned to face Raffina. "And besides, one moment you're complaining to Amitie about her yelling in her ear. And then the next, you're defending her? Geez, why don't you just get on one knee and propose already?"
"Wh-What are you talking about, you nerdy freak?!" Raffina yelled.
"Wuffina. We all know you're gay." Sig said. (By the way, he was woken up from Amitie's shouting earlier).
"Okay, first off…it's Raffina! With an R! And second, stop making weird assumptions of me!"
"But we all know it's true." Lidelle said.
"Kinda pathetic that you're hiding it now." I said.
"You already came out of the closest, meow." Popoi said.
"N-No I didn't!"
"It's okay, Raffina." Amitie said. "I may not swing that way, but you'll find someone to love."
"Don't act like I just asked you out!" Raffina was completely red at this point.
"Alright, kiddies. That's enough talking about Raffina's homosexuality." Ms. Accord said.
"D-Did you really have to put it that way?" Raffina asked as she hid her red face in her arms.
"Anyway…as Amitie pointed out earlier, summer vacation has officially started. Don't do anything out of the ordinary like going to a different world or something like that. And I expect everyone to be here for the Puyo Festival. Understand?"
"Yes, Ms. Accord." We all said.
"Zzz…"
*JAB*
"H-Huh?! Wh-What?! I-I'm up!"
"No, you weren't." Klug said to Sig after waking him up.
"Have a good summer, kiddies. *giggle*"
"Ugh. Finally, it's over." I said while stretching a little as I walked out the school and in the streets of Primp Town. I ended up transferring to Primp Magic School because it was closer to home than my old school in the town next door. And right now makes it a little over a year.
"Hey! Feli!" I heard Amitie call out for me. I then see her running up to me and then soon after catching her breath.
"Huh? What is it, Amitie?"
"S…So…wh-whatcha gonna do this summer, huh?"
"Oh. That. Hmm…not sure. Probably nothing."
"Nothing?! But it's summer! You can't just do nothing!"
"Sig does nothing every summer."
"Yeah, but that's Sig. He always does nothing."
Fair point.
"Well…Mao and I don't really have anything planned this year. We didn't save up for a trip or something."
"Who says you have to go on a trip for summer? There's plenty to do in good 'ol Primp Town."
"Really? Like what?"
"Well…there's the beach. We could play in the forest. Exploring the ruins is nice, too…"
"But we do that kind of stuff every day."
"Okay, then. What about the Puyo Festival?"
"True. There is that…but that's like the only thing."
"*whine* You're not making this easy, Feli!"
"Fine, fine. Enlighten me, Ms. Rose. How should I spend my summer vacation?" I asked in the best Klug impression I could make.
Which grossed me out by even doing it in the first place.
"Hmm…let's see…we just need a little help from some other-worlders I know."
"Other-worlders, huh?" I started feeling a little sad from hearing those words. And aside from two other people, Amitie knows why."
"O-Oops. Sorry, Feli. I-I didn't mean to…"
"No. It's okay, Amitie. It couldn't be avoided." I said with a sigh.
"You really miss Futaba and the others, do you?"
"Yeah. I do."
"Me too. Still can't believe it's been over a year since we said goodbye to them. Wonder how they're doing."
"Who knows. I lost contact with them once my phone got used to this world's time zones. Which didn't take long at all, unfortunately."
"Ah. That sucks."
"Clearly."
*RING* *RING* *RING*
"Hello? Oh hey, Mao. Yeah, I just got out of school. You need what? Where the hell am I suppose to find Holy Salt Water?! *sigh* Fine. I'll go look for some. Happy? Yes, I love you too, Sis. Bye."
I hung up the phone and looked at Amitie, who had a really confused look on her face.
"Holy Salt Water?"
"I don't even know. But apparently, it exists. And now I have to go find some."
"Well…my friend Misuki might have some."
"W-Wait, what? She does? And who's Misuki?"
"You know that blonde-haired girl who sells potions down at the plaza?"
"Yeah."
"I often call her that. Like a nickname of sorts."
"And she's okay with that?"
"It was her idea."
"Huh."
Although she only lets me call her that. Everyone else calls her Witch."
"I see. So can we go and see this friend of yours?"
"Sure. She's just nearby. I'll take you to her."
"Thanks, Amitie. I'm really not sure why Mao needs that stuff. It sounds like it's fake.
"If it is fake, then Misuki will have it for sure."
…
…
What?
H-Holy crap. I still can't believe that friend of Amitie's actually had Holy Salt Water. And she had a lot of other things too. Why have I not known this before?!
"Although, looking at this stuff…it looks rather dangerous. Why does Mao need this stuff?"
I was now taking this Holy Salt Water to my older sister Mao back at our house. Ever since I came back to this world, we've been trying to get to know a lot about each other. And, well…we're A LOT like each other. We both practice The Occult Art of Divination. We both have split personalities. We both love cute things.
…
W-We both have…b-barely anything there.
…
Ch-Chest-wise.
We're definitely sisters alright.
"Hey, Mao. I'm home."
"F-Feli! G-Get over here! Q-Quickly!"
"Mao? What's with you? Why are you hiding behind the couch?"
"J-Just get over here!"
I was still confused as hell, but I went over to her anyway. Not sure why, though.
"So, uh…here's this Holy Salt Water stuff."
"Yes! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Mao cheered as she grabbed the bottle from me.
Okay…
"Why did you need this stuff, anyway?" I asked.
"W-Well…I was practicing a few charms I learned from a library book I got. A-And one of them…backfired a little."
"A little? How much backfiring are we talking about here?"
"Well…let's just say…after multiple attempts to do multiple charms, our house is now haunted by a pineapple."
…
…
"What the hell?" Was all I was able to say to that.
"I know it sounds ridiculous. But it's true. We're cursed by a pineapple."
"Did this charm put you on an LSD trip?"
"Wh-Why the hell would I do LSD?!"
"Just asking. This whole "cursed by a pineapple" thing sounds like something someone would come up with when they're high as-GAH!"
I was about to finish my sentence when I turned around and suddenly…there was a pineapple. Resting on one of the end tables next to the couch.
"Wh-Where did this pineapple come from?!" I asked.
"Th-That's it! Th-That's the cursed pineapple!" Mao screamed in fear.
"Cursed…pineapple? Sis, really? It's just a pineapple. I'll just punt it out of here and it'll never bug us again."
B-But…
I grabbed the pineapple and headed for the front door. I then opened it and kicked the pineapple out the house.
"See? Problem solved."
"W-Will you just listen to me for one second?" Mao said with a little pissed off look on her face. "That is not a normal pineapple."
"*sigh* Mao. You're my sister. I love you and all, but this is starting to get ridicul-HOLY CRAP!"
As we both turned around to get inside, we saw the pineapple. Resting on the floor. Without a single dent from when I kicked it a few seconds ago.
…
…
"Wh…What the hell?"
"S-See?! I told you! I made a cursed pineapple!" Mao yelled.
"I-It's probably not cursed. You probably used too many charms on it and something happened to it. We'll get it checked out tomorrow."
"F-Fine. I'll just put this damn thing in the fridge." Mao said as she grabbed the pineapple.
"Well, I'm gonna go take a bath. Want me to leave the water running for you?"
"No, I'll do it myself later. I gotta go to the store and get dinner. I should be back in 20 minutes or so."
"Alright."
We both went our separate ways for now as we tried to forget this stupidly weird encounter with a pineapple.
…
Our family is weird.
"Ah. This is nice. A perfect reward for completing a school year." I said to myself as I sat in the bathtub filled with water and bubbles. The more I sat there, the more I was able to clear my mind of all thoughts.
Well…not all of them."
*sigh* Damn. Thanks to Amitie, I can't stop thinking of them. This isn't really new to me, as I've done it before. But now that I've realized that it's been a year since that tearful goodbye…
"God. I'm so emotional."
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
"Hey, Mao! Someone's at the door!" I called out.
…
But no response.
"Mao?"
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
"*sigh* She's probably not home yet. Alright, I'm coming!"
I got out the bathtub and put on a shirt and some shorts before going towards the front door to answer it. Looking at the clock on my phone while doing so.
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
"Geez. Who is knocking at almost 9:30 at night? Mao probably forgot her key again. She's so forgetful."
…
E-Even though I do that myself sometimes.
*KNOCK* *KNOCK* *KNOCK*
"Yeah, yeah. I'm coming. This better be a good surprise or else I'm gonna…"
"SURPRISE!"
I opened the door…and saw the most insane surprise of my natural born life.
"H-Huh?! F-Futaba?!"
"Hiya, Feli! Long time no see!"
"Wh-What?!"
"Geez. I told you we should've had someone told her." Said a voice that I recognized. Who had eventually made herself visible from behind Futaba.
"H-Hinata?!"
"Hello, Feli. Good to see you again."
"Wow, way to be formal, Hinata." Said another voice I recognized. Who had done the same thing as Hinata did.
"N-Naoko?!"
"What's up, Feli? How's it been?"
"FELI!" I was suddenly bombarded by a sheer force as I was wrapped around someone giving me a tight as hell hug. And there was one person I knew that would often do such a thing.
"R-Rin?!"
"Oh, Feli! I missed you so very much! I'm so happy to see you again!"
"Th-That's great, Rin! B-But can you let me go now?! Y-You're squishing…me!"
"Oops! Sorry, Feli!"
"H-Hey! Futaba!" Then there was another voice I recognized. This time, coming from outside. So I went out there and saw…
"A-Are you going to help with these bags or what?!"
"Y-Yuuta?!"
"Yo, Feli. Nice to see you again."
"Oh, come on, Yuuta." Futaba said. "You said you were a big strong man before we left. What happened to that?"
"I wasn't expecting it to be taken seriously, okay? Lay off and help me."
"Fine, fine."
As I watched the group of five grab a suitcase from off the street, a simple 6-letter sentence was repeating itself in my head. And it was…
What the hell is going on?!
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Ladies and gentlemen. I present to you…the sequel to Feli's Existence: Puyo Puyo: Moonstruck Summer Break! A story in which Futaba and friends visit Feli in Primp Town after saying goodbye one year ago. Since this is the sequel, the same style of writing will be used as well. As in, there will be at the most 5 parts to each act. How many acts? Well, I have no idea yet. But I'll think of it soon.
Feel free to review/favorite/follow/kudos the story. I hope you enjoy the continued adventures of Feli & Futaba. Thanks for reading. Later.
