Hermione wrapped her arms around the male as he lead her in an dance. She buried her face in his chest and inhaled slowly, drunk in his scent. Her hands rubbed his arms as they turned slowly in the middle of her living room, a slow soft jazz song playing on the radio in the kitchen, Norah Jones crooning along. There was a scent of coffee in the air mingled with the chicken bake she had made for dinner. She smiled as she heard him humming along, albeit in a silly way as he began to dramatically sway her back and forth. He spun her before dragging her back and settling his hands on her waist, swaying her slowly once more as they turned again. It had been one of those slow days, the ones where you curl up on the couch with your loved one and read a book or talk.
And that she had done. Curled up under his arm, she had reread one of her favorite books, listening to him snoozing next to her. Everything seemed so gloriously uncomplicated, so beautiful. It seemed like all the stress in her life had disappeared, that the past had never happened. Again, they turned, and she felt him bury his face into her hair and take a long breath in. She giggled softly and pulled back from him to kiss him softly on his lips. She felt them move, obviously he was smiling. She looked into his glorious emerald eyes, partially obscured by his black rimmed glasses. Her fingers ran through his hair softly and she rested her hands on his shoulders as she rested her head against his chest. They weren't speaking, which only made it so much better, so calming and loving as she listened to his heart beat and the song which she knew was about to end.
As he pulled back, kissing her softly as he released her, she watched him disappear into the kitchen. She couldn't help it, she had one of those sappy smiles on her face as she sat back down on the couch and looked out the window, cradling her coffee cup in her hands now.
It felt so good to love, and be loved, without any complications. Love like this was so smooth, like taking a sip of hot chocolate when you're cold and feeling your body melt and warm up to it. It had been hard in the beginning, but now they had each other, and it was perfect.
She smiled again, watching as he came back and settled into his spot beside her.
Right where he always was.
Right where he always would be.
