Fear ran through her body. Was he safe? Did A get him last night? She suspected that it was a set up, and she was right. Good thing she sent Caleb to stop him, but that still didn't mean that he was safe. Caleb was the last person that saw him that night, and all he saw was Toby running into the distance without looking back. They got away from the police, but who knows what could have happened to Toby after that? Caleb didn't see anything after that, since he was busy running away himself. All Spencer wanted was to know that he was okay, and that A had not hurt him in any way. She didn't know what she would do if the love of her life was hurt. Sure, she was furious at him for running off somewhere without telling her again, but she couldn't bring herself to feel any hate for him. All she felt was worry...
She was worried that she would never see the guy she loved again. She was worried that she'd never get to wrap her arms around him and feel safe in his arms. She was worried that she would never get to kiss his soft lips ever. She was worried that A had taken him out of her life.
All she wanted was to know that he was safe. All she needed was one call, or even one text that said "I'm okay" or "I need some space". That's all she wanted. She just wanted to know that she would be able to see him again in her life. She had been panicking all day. She couldn't even focus in school because of how worried she was about him.
She sat down on the couch and stared at the ground. There was no word from him. He wasn't answering her calls or her messages. How could he just disappear into the night like that? It wasn't possible. She wishes that she went to find Toby instead of Caleb that night. Maybe she would have been able to follow him, and stop A from getting him.
She had checked his loft early this morning, but no one had answered the door. It reminded her of that day she was crying outside of his loft after their messy break up. After she caught him in that black hoodie... He disappeared, just like this. It was so easy for A to make him disappear.
Then her phone rang. It probably wasn't Toby. He probably wasn't even planning on calling her. A had probably taken his phone, anyways. She sniffled as she got up and grabbed her phone from the kitchen counter.
And her jaw dropped.
It was Toby.
She eagerly picked it up.
"Oh my god. Toby... Thank god."
"Spence, we need to talk."
"Please just come to my place. We can talk all you want."
"I'll... I'll be there."
She ended the call. She was angry with him for making her so scared like that, but she was beyond happy that he was okay. She sighed in relief. It felt so good to hear his sweet voice again!
She relaxed herself against the couch. Toby would be over soon, and that's all she needed right now.
