AN: Hey, ya'll... Yeah, I'm actually still alive. This was just a quick little tidbit I wrote about Ted Tonks, one of my FAVORITE Harry Potter characters, the other day. It's just a one-shot, but hopefully ya'll will like it! Feel free to let me know what you think... Also, I don't own Harry Potter or its characters. J.K. Rowling owns them. That is all.
Ted peeked over the top of his History of Magic textbook. His blue eyes found their target across the Great Hall. Andromeda... Andy... He watched as she tucked a stray curl behind her ear, her large eyes never leaving the parchment she was scribbling furiously upon. He wondered if she noticed his gaze upon her. Probably not... Her sister certainly noticed, however. Bellatrix Black fixed him with a glare so severe Ted was surprised he didn't wet himself. His eyes dropped back down to his book. He'd been hexed by Bellatrix Black many times, and it was not an enjoyable experience...
He wanted to go over to Andy. He wanted to nudge her playfully while she wrote her essay, laughing when he made her smudge her ink just a tiny bit. She always got so angry about that, but her fury never reached her eyes. He wanted to go down to the Black Lake with her. He wanted to jump into the dark waters, grinning playfully as he dared Andy to join him. She hadn't done so yet, but Ted was determined to break her down this term.
And not just about the Black Lake. Ted was determined to get far more than that out of Andromeda Black this year. He would be leaving Hogwarts when summer arrived, and he wouldn't be coming back. He'd be headed to the Ministry of Magic, hopefully, for a job as an Auror... And if he didn't move quickly with Andy, he would lose her forever. He needed Andy in his life, and he wanted to save her. It pained him to think of his sweet Andromeda living a life of abominable pretense with a man she would and could never love. A life full of Lord Voldemort's evil... No. Ted loved her too much for that. He wanted to marry her, to take care of her forever.
But until that time came, Ted Tonks would love Andromeda Black from whatever distance she formed between them.
