Chapter 1 Changes
Location: Paris, Neyla's apartment
(Neyla's P.O.V)
"Two years…my god it's, been TWO YEARS since that fateful day in Russia, things haven't been as crazy as they used to be, but, let me catch up a bit, my name is Neyla, inspector Neyla, partner to fellow inspector, Carmelita Montoya Fox, I was assigned to be her partner two years ago to track down the man who has been on the top of her list for years…Sly Cooper…my secret boyfriend, yes, I've been dating a thief and an assassin for the past two years, at first, I thought he was just a shameless flirt but over the time me and Carmelita chased him while he was hunting down the Fiendish five gang, I started to see him in a new light, ever since the end of them, he and I have been in a hidden relationship, so I decided to move to Paris, buying an apartment on the edge of the Western district, it wasn't fancy but over the last two years, it was home"

Suddenly Neyla heard a tapping on her bedroom window as she sat up in her bed reading a book, she then looked to see her boyfriend, Sly Cooper, she then quickly moved to the window and opened it, Sly entered her room with ninja-like stealth and pulled out a fresh batch of roses for her
"Beautiful roses for my beautiful tigress" He told her, she took a sniff of the flowers
"AAAAH, gorgeous, what's the occasion" She asked him
"Two actually, one, it's been two years since we started dating, the day since I laid eyes on such a rare beauty like yourself and two…we and the team are gonna finally end things between my family and Clockwerk" He told her
"But…I thought you did" She told him
"Turns out the parts were removed from Russia and brought to Cairo, where their gonna be displayed as an exhibit…we plan to steal em…and destroy them" He told her
"But he fell into a pit of lava, how does anyone survive something like that" Neyla asked him
"Obviously, he can, you heard him say that he's been alive for thousands of years, he's been a constant source of pain for my family and I wanna make sure he doesn't come back" He explained
"So, why come to tell me this" She asked him as she placed her roses on her bed
"Because, after we destroy the parts…I want us to talk, really talk about our future together" He told her
"Future" She asked him
"I won't be doing what I do forever, my tigress, I have plans for after I make it big time" He told her
"And…where might I be in this future plan of yours" She asked him, wrapping her arms around his neck and standing on her toes to elevate herself higher
"Well…you'll just have to wait until we get our hands on those Clockwerk parts for me to answer that question…can you be patient enough until then" He asked her, she pondered the question with a thinking look on her face
"Alright…just, don't keep me waiting for long" She told him before they kissed again before separating
"I promise…see you in a few days" He told her as he left the room
(A few days later, Cairo, Egypt, Natural history museum)
It had been a few days after Sly's visit to his girlfriend, he gathered his crew and came up with the plan to break into the museum and locate the Clockwerk parts and find out a way to destroy them, Sly was on point as he maneuvered on the rooftops he soon found his way into the museum's main hall, he then got a call on his earpiece, it was Bentley
"Breaker, Alpha, Foxtrot, this is the Wizard, do you read me, Sitting duck" Bentley asked in code
"This is Peaking duck and I hear you Blizzard" Sly replied
"No, Sly, I'm the Wizard and your SITTING DUCK" Bentley replied
"I read you loud and clear, LIZARD" Sly replied
"No…I-I'm…forget it, you're not taking this seriously" Bentley replied in slight anger
"No, I'm not, look Bentley, I know this is your first time out in the field, but you have to loosen up, if we're gonna get to those Clockwerk parts, I need you on your toes, so in plain talk, what's your status" Sly asked his turtle friend
"Well, I've established myself in the basement and I'm pretty sure I can rewire the surface elevator, if you can power it up from that security station, nearby" Bentley answered
"Alright, hang onto your shell buddy, I'll be there in a second" Sly replied before he hung up, he then used his rope launcher to quickly ascend to the high ground and he jumped on a huge, skeleton of a prehistoric animal to get to the security station and activated it
"Okay, I splice the wire, OOW" Sly heard Bentley through the earpieces, making Sly pull out the earpiece slightly
"AAH" Sly nearly shouts in slight pain before putting the earpiece back on
"Hold on…there it is" Bentley was heard through the earpiece again as the elevator came up to show Bentley, who was two years older and he was equipped with a crossbow and wore an explorer's hat (Like he does in the second Sly Cooper game)
"Okay, okay, let me at that security computer" Bentley stated as he moved over to the gate to the next room, behind a security gate was a field of laser security and spotlights, Bentley worked his magic on the nearby terminal, he soon got the spotlights to turn off
"Spotlights off-line" Bentley stated, soon the lasers were turned off as well
"There goes the laser security system, I'm working on the security gate" Bentley stated, after a few seconds, the gate opened
"Presto, all clear" Bentley told Sly
"Thanks pale, for your first time out in the field, you did pretty well" Sly told the turtle
"Oh, this operation is FAR from complete, now that the lasers and spotlights are off-line, Murray should be moving into position for your rendezvous, I'll stay here and provide computer support, while you go on ahead" Bentley told Sly, he then moved on ahead and thanks to Bentley, the security systems were disabled, Sly soon found himself on a balcony, overlooking the entire grounds of the museum, Bentley then called on the earpiece
"According to my information, the Clockwerk parts are being stored up there, now to get access to it, your gonna have to meet up with Murray at the rendezvous point, unfortunately, the route through the garden is FILLED with guards" Bentley told Sly, he then looked to some ropes that would make an excellent opportunity for a shortcut
"Not a problem, I'll just take the long way around" Sly replied as he hung up before using the Raccoon rail walk on the ropes, he then ended up at the spot for the rendezvou, but Murray was nowhere to be seen
"Bentley, I thought you said Murray would be here" Sly called over the earpieces
"He SHOULD be there, I don't get it, did something happen to" Bentley was about to say before
"THUNDER FLOOOOOP" Murray's voice was heard from above, Sly then saw him doing a belly flop downward, to which he did a backflip to avoid getting hit
"Uh, Bentley…never mind" Sly told Bentley before he hung up
"Greetings citizen, I hope you weren't harmed by my meteoropic entrance" Murray told Sly
"No, Murray, I kept at a safe distance" Sly told him
"Good, good, the Thunderflop knows neither friend nor foe, only destruction" Murray replied
"Yeah, could you maybe channel some of that raw energy into the security gate" Sly asked him, pointing to the security gate behind him
"Of course, it is nothing before "The Murray" Murray replied before he turned and gripped under the security gate before he lifted the whole thing up and Sly slipped under it before Murray followed, he then spotted another security gate on the other side of a long rope, connecting where they were standing to the place where the Clockwerk parts were being held
"Another barrier stands before you…FEAR NOT…I shall bend it like the truth" Murray stated before he picked up a nearby flower pot and tossed it like it was nothing at the security gate and broke it open
"Solid work Murray, your really in the zone" Sly told the muscle of the crew
"My hulking frame is too much for that puny rope, you go ahead and unlock the doors from the inside, I'll be waiting in the hallway to help you carry out the Clockwerk parts" Murray told Sly, he then crossed the rope and into the Clockwerk part exhibit…only one problem…the Clockwerk parts were GONE!
"I don't get it Sly, the Clockwerk parts should be here, THIS IS ALL WRONG, WE NEED TO PULL THE PLUG ON THIS OPERATION RIGHT NOW" Bentley called from the earpieces, then two of the sarcophagi opened to show Carmelita and Neyla
"FREEZE COOPER" Carmelita yelled
"Oh, dame, inspector fox, as unpredictable and annoying as ever" Sly stated
"Whereas you crooks are SO predictable, you always return to the scene of the crime" Carmelita told him
"Crime, what crime, I haven't stolen anything…YET" He replied
"Oh really, then who broke in last night and made off with all the Clockwerk parts, you got the motive, given your history with him" Carmelita replied, pointing her shock pistol at him
"SOMEONE ALREADY STOLE THE CLOCKWERK PARTS" Sly asked in shock
"Don't play dumb with me" Carmelita replied
"Carmelita, with all due respect, it may not have been Cooper, the method of entry and guard casualties all pointed this being a Klaww gang job" Neyla told her partner
*Klaww Gang* Sly asked in his mind
"Neyla, you may have worked with me for the last two years, but your still new to our department and I really didn't need any help with this one" Carmelita replied as Sly tried to get away quietly
"Oh, I think you might, look at the facts" Neyla told her
"FACTS, Sly Cooper is here, we caught him read-handed" Carmelita replied
"I'm just saying, there are other criminals in the world, other than" Neyla was about to say before Carmelita noticed Sly getting away
"SLY COOPER, AFTER HIM" Carmelita yelled as she took off after him, she chased him through the corridors of the museum
"GET BACK HERE COOPER" Carmelita yelled, the two played cat and mouse until Sly ran into Murray
"OH MAN…WAIT UP, SLY" Murray yelled trying to keep up with his speedy friend
"SHAKE A LEG, MURRAY, IT'S TIME TO GO" Sly yelled back as they ran, Bentley soon joined them
"THIS WASN'T PART OF THE PLAN" Bentley shouted as he ran as well
"Yeah, well…this is where things get fun" Sly replied as the three were chased by Carmelita, then Sly's earpiece rang
"NEPHEW, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON IN THERE" Mario's voice came from the other side
"A little…inspector trouble, namely, Carmelita's trying to shock the hell out of us" Sly replied
"STOP THIEF" Carmelita yelled as she still gave chase
"Uncle, get the van, meet us at the rendezvous" Sly told Mario
"WHAT, I don't know how to drive this bloody thing" Mario replied
"LEARN TO DAME IT, OR WE'RE ALL IN JAIL" Sly yelled
"Okay, okay, I'll give it a shot" Mario replied as the inspector continued the chase
"This is getting a little hot, Bentley, Murray, I'll draw her away, get to the van, I'll be down as soon as I can" Sly told them
"Your ALL going to jail" Carmelita told them as Bentley and Murray separated while Carmelita chased Sly through a busted window and onto the rooftops, the two continued their case while Mario tried to drive the van through the gathering cops as fast as he could, he soon picked up Murray and Bentley
"WHOA, WHOA, WHOA" Bentley yelled as he tied to hang onto something as Murray made his way to the driver seat of the van
"MOVE OVER, SIR" Murray told Mario as they switch positions
"Gladly" Mario replied, giving the controls over to Murray, soon Sly found himself in an alleyway where the rest of the team was
"SLY, JUMP IN FAST, SO WE CAN GET OUT OF HERE" Murray yelled through the earpieces, Sly then quickly rushed to the van and jumped in
"GO, GO, GO" Mario yelled as Murray took off with burning rubber
"COOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER" Carmelita yelled in anger as the Cooper gang got away again
(With the Cooper gang)
As the Cooper gang drove away, they all caught their breaths after such an ordeal
"WHEW…talk about close" Murray stated
"Too close for my shell" Bentley stated
"Is what Carmelita said true, nephew, were the Clockwerk parts gone" Mario asked his nephew
"Yeah…some gang called the Klaww gang got to them before we could even get close" Sly answered
"By the ancestors…what do they intend to do with such evil pieces of machinery" Mario asked
"There's no telling sir, but one thing is for sure, we need to find out where they are and FAST" Bentley told them
"Then get to work on it, we need to know where they are" Mario told Bentley
"Yes sir" Bentley replied as he quickly got to work as Sly was lost in his thoughts
"We'll find them, nephew" Mario told Sly, he nodded before he pulled off his hood and veil
(Sly's P.O.V)
"That Carmelita, still as obsessed with arresting me as ever, one of these days, she's probably gonna lose something due to it, anyway, what Neyla said about the Klaww gang, she was helping me, obviously something that I don't know about, I just hope Carmelita didn't catch onto her helping us, the last thing I would want is for her to be in trouble because of me, anyway, it's the only lead we have on our missing Clockwork parts…CLOCKWERK, he was consumed with jealously for my father's family side and their thieving reputation, is it inappropriate to refer to him as a monster…no…not at all…what kind of person stays alive for thousands of years with the sole intention of destroying a rivals family line, imagine the hatred fueling that first decision to replace his mortal body with soulless machinery, ultimately, it did the trick…Clockwerk LIVED ON…he caught up with my parents and I would have gone to an orphanage if not for my uncle, over the time he raised and trained me in both my family lines of thieving and assassination greatness, I meet my two, best friends, Bentley the brains of our operations and Murray, the brawn, they turned out to be all the family I needed…two years ago, I thought I finished Clockwerk, how naïve to think I could so easily put an end that that kind of hatred…and now, he's back, in pieces sure but the threat is real…does the Klaww gang even realize what they've stolen…I don't know what's in my future…but I WON'T let it be a repeat of my past"

*Clockwerk WON'T come back…that I swear* Sly said in his mind as he and his crew drove away
