Lightning stood, across the vast opening that consisted of Gran Pulse. Along with her fellow former pulse l'cie, she watched as people, starting by one by one, gradually growing to hundreds and thousands of people, as Cocoon was slowly evacuated. Permanently.
Silence stood amongst the group, until "My Brand... Its Gone" Hope's high voice pierced the ears of the rest of the group. All of them began to check the former locations of their mark. The mark that branded them, the mark that forced them along the way. Out of fear.
The relief through all of them, as the fact that they were free.
As people began to finally gather, military squads began to escort - or for a better word, herd - the people away from their former inhabitance. As people started to disperse, the high voice of Dajh, Sazh's son, echoed through the murmurs. Immediately, Sazh started to run towards his son and wrapped his arms around him. Tears forming in his eyes.
Snow held his head high, trying to find Serah throughout everyone else. Lightning stood silent, trying not to make herself seem to caring. She had spent a lot of time, building this icy shield from everyone else. A short time went by, and then the time they waited grew longer and longer until there was only about 50 people left at the base. Lightning could physically feel Snows disappointment. Just when all hope was about lost, everyone's faith wavering, Snow spins around on the spot, punches his own fist, and started shouting one of his famous 'for Serah' speeches. Lightning didn't pay much attention, but payed slight attention incase he said something she didn't like, and would make him pay for.
His speech primarily revolved around 'she has got to be somewhere' and 'We'll find her'
Lightning forced a slight smile and placed a hand on his shoulder, if you didn't see it, you wouldn't believe it - Lightning making physical contact with Snow but not inflicting bodily pain. He sensed that this was her best attempt at comforting him, he smiled faintly back, trying to back his big speech with a face of confidence. By the time they had decided to leave the base of Cocoon, people had started to leave in groups, trying to find somewhere safe for the night. They followed one of the groups into the the Mah'habara caves.
