Author's Note: I had a hand-written rough draft of this just sitting around, so I decided that it was time to write it and publish it, just in time for Halloween. It's funny, Jason Flemyng and Helena Bonham Carter both appear in Great Expectations looking like the characters featured in this short.

Dr. Henry Jekyll walked out into the woods that surrounded a small European village that the League was visiting. Local villagers claimed that the woods were haunted, but Henry did not really care for the tales. As a doctor, Henry kept to the logical, not supernatural, facts. Of course, after meeting the lovely Mina Harker, he was aware that vampires and other strange beings existed. Besides, if he did run into trouble, Henry could always use the elixir to become his alter-ego, Mr. Edward Hyde.

The doctor quietly walked among the tall, twisted, dark trees. He stopped and fixed his grey-blue eyes on the sky. It was night, but he could see the moon beaming through the intertwining branches. Henry placed his bony hands in his pockets and continued to walk.

Without warning, he tripped over a gnarled tree root. Henry landed hard on the ground, receiving bumps and bruises on his skinny form.

He slowly stood up and brushed the dirt off of his coat and trousers. Henry silently cursed himself for not being careful while his alter-ego roared insults within the back of his mind.

"Are you alright?" asked a woman's voice.

Henry looked for the source of the voice. Right in front of him was a strange looking woman. Her skin was blue, she wore what looked like a soiled wedding gown, her left arm and right leg were skeletal.

Henry's eyes widened, he could hear Hyde urging him to take the elixir. Adam's apple bobbing against his starched collar, Henry swallowed to speak.

"Yes," he answered. "You're…" He trailed off and could not help but stare.

"Dead," the woman finished his sentence. "I am the corpse bride."

"It's t-true, these woods are h-haunted."

"You don't seem to be startled by me." The corpse bride smiled with her curved and red lips.

"W-well," Henry said with a blush, "I've seen many strange things in recent times. My name is Dr. Henry Jekyll, at your service." He realized that it was getting late and the rest of the League would worry if he did not return soon. "I was just out for a walk and I should be heading back."

"My name is Emily. Do you mind if I accompany you?"

"I don't mind at all." Henry straightened his tie and smiled. "I'm sure that the League would like to meet you."

"The League?"

"The League is an organization of unique individuals, who are my associates and friends. Please come with me, I'll introduce you to them." Henry Jekyll headed back to the village where the League waited. Following behind him was his new friend.

The End.
