Satsuki and Keiichiro are seen in a cemetery visiting the grave of their deceased mother, Kayako. They prayed, wishing that they could have a great Mother's Day with her.
"If only she were alive, then we can celebrate that day," the former said as they finished their prayers for their relative.
"Yeah, I know," the latter added.
"Did you two need a Mother's Day celebration? Because I'm here," a voice called out for them, and they turned around to see Momoko. However, the voice she spoke wasn't her own; it was someone else's. Also, her eyes weren't brown, but green. Those signs mean that Kayako has possessed the girl once again.
"Momoko?" the two children spoke.
"Seriously, you two," Kayako looked annoyed that they haven't recognized her, even if she's in a different body. "Can't you tell it's me? I'm your mother."
"Huh?"
Satsuki and Keiichiro took one look at the teen that is older than them. It's true that her voice wasn't hers, but their mother's. Also, with her eyes being green instead of brown, it's quite obvious.
There's no reasonable doubt.
Their mother has returned by possessing Momoko.
Realizing the truth, they cried with tears on their face.
"Mom!" they cried as they hugged Kayako. Even if her body was Momoko's, it didn't matter to them. All that mattered to them is their mother being with them in the living once again.
"Shh, it's okay, Satsuki dear, Keiichiro darling..." Kayako tried to reassure them. "It's okay. I'm here."
"You can possess Momoko?" Satsuki lets go of the hug, and her brother did as well. "And you helped us in the school play and piano without telling us about it?"
"I'm sorry I couldn't tell you two about it," the matriarch looked at Momoko's hand. "Not like this. I was afraid that I failed you both since I died too soon. Not only that, it was my fault you were in danger in the town I was living."
"Don't say it's your fault, Mom!" Keiichiro bawled. "We made the choice to come here in the first place. Even if you weren't there, you always guided us through your book. Therefore, don't go blaming yourself for our situation. It's not your fault, it's not your fault."
"He's right, Mom," Satsuki wiped her tears from her eyes. "All that mattered is, you're here to see us for Mother's Day. Let's use this day to spend your day here before you let Momoko control over her body again."
"Satsuki... Keiichiro... thank you," Kayako cried happily from Momoko's eyes and her children hugged her once again.
"I love you, Mom," Satsuki and Keiichiro said in unison.
"I love you, too, Satsuki, Keiichiro."
As they left the cemetery, the two children spent their time celebrating Mother's Day with their mother now here possessing the body of their friend.
