He didn't mean for things to get this bad. He really didn't. How was he to know it would affect her like that? He wasn't even thinking when it happened – it just did. It really wasn't fair, he reasoned. It was an accident and it was fixable! He was sure of it…maybe. Could you undo things like that? Either way, he had told himself from the beginning he wouldn't let him bother him.

But now…Now she was in the kitchen with Yuzu, recounting every last sordid detail. He might have been able to ignore Rukia until things were settled, but now Rukia has told Yuzu, who will tell Karin, and then Pops would hear and this entire thing was really being blown out of proportion. Grumbling, he went to the kitchen and tried to get a drink without being noticed and having something thrown at him. This worked about halfway. Nothing physical was thrown.

He was noticed, and instead of a pot or a fist, dirty looks were thrown his way. He tried to ignore them and looked around the fridge for something good. Rukia coughed. "We're out of milk," Yuzu said. Was the fridge normally this cold? "He shivered and decided on some juice. "Right then…" He hurried out of the room as fast as he could without looking like he was eager to leave. He passed Karin on the way out, who gave him a quizzical stare, but said nothing. Just great.

It wasn't a big deal. Really. Completely and utterly exaggerated in ever way. There was no use crying over spilt milk, right? Even if it had soaked her bag and everything in it, they all dried eventually. You could wash the dress and the stupid rabbit charm and whatnot. It wasn't like it melted or anything. Right? Right?

When he got back to his room, he started counting how much he had saved up.
