Tingle Within the Skin
She squeezed her eyes shut and whimpered, "They're still thereā¦" She whispered to the dark shadows.
---
"Tingling in her legs at night?" He asked the old woman, the left side of his face resting against his palm while his elbow was pressed against the table.
"Yes, Shikako told me that it feels like little bugs are crawling under her skin, but the doctors tell us that everything is fine with her." The mother explained, worry lines already gracing her age lines.
He held his tobacco and thought for a minute, "Can I see her?"
"Yes, yes, follow me please, Ginko-san."
He was led to a large bedroom, where a young lady sat, her long fingers running across her legs.
Ginko sat down and placed his palms on his knees.
Shikako looked at him for a brief moment before looking back at her limbs and started pressing the pads of her fingers harder on her legs. "Are you here to fix my legs?" She asked: dark eyes concentrated on her limbs.
He looked at her legs and at the small blue dots that were running across her skin, "Yeah, I am." He moved his hand over and plucked one of the small blue circles from her leg and held it up to his face to get a better look.
"W-What are you doing?" She asked, looking at him oddly.
"You have Mushi on you." He told her.
"What?"
"Mushi, living things that aren't animal nor plant or anything else. They're kind of like the beginning of life. Anyway, you have Aowa on you."
"Aowa?" She seemed even more confused, but that would be suspected.
"Yes, the feeling on your legs is the Aowa moving. They like sticking onto animals that don't move much and they eat dead skin and fur to live." He grinned briefly at the mortified look on Shikako's face, "Don't worry, though, it's not dangerous. In fact, it's probably very good for your skin."
"Can't you just get rid of them?" She asked in a skirl.
"Of course," He blew a puff of smoke over her skin and watched the small circles retreat and burry into the blanket under her.
"If you don't want them to return, just blow smoke on you clothes and other cloth. Oh, and be sure to get out some more." He advised.
