Author's Note: Greetings and thank you for clicking the link to my little story. I am trying to get back into writing and thought I would start off with my favorite series at the moment: RWBY. After looking over the chapters, I feel like I should ask you to please bear with me a little bit and read on to at least chapter 4 or 5 where I feel I hit a stride. I am contemplating rewriting the first few chapters if I get the time. Also please leave a review or let me know what you think. Constructive criticism is always appreciated!

The clock seemed to tick increasingly slowly as the end to Professor Port's lecture on Beowolves, which turned out to be a lecture on how one interrupted his last "romp into the wilds" came to its highly anticipated conclusion. Weiss sat there staring, seemingly attentive as always but even her studious nature had its limits. In this case that limit was reached approximately one lost bag of marshmallows ago.

At last the bell chimed and the students began to quickly file out of the classroom. Weiss stood up with them, nudging Ruby as she did so.

"The underside of their belly!" she jumped up yelling.

"Class is over you dolt." Weiss said as she put her book into her bag "You managed to sleep through another one."

"Oh." Ruby replied simply "Soooooooo lunch?" A look of hope sparkling in her eyes as she looked between Weiss, Blake and Yang.

"Oh hell yeah, I think we all need some energy after that." Yang responded.

Twenty minutes later, the group sat in the cafeteria talking about something that Weiss couldn't seem to pay attention to. As much as she tried to focus on what the others were discussing, she kept finding herself being diverted by Ruby attempting to quarantine the vegetables from the rest of her meal. She always did this, and Weiss couldn't help but notice at every meal lately.

"Hello? HQ to Weiss. Are you in there somewhere?"

Startled out of her thoughts, Weiss looked between the others. "Yes? What is it?"

"We were saying that you never told us what happened between you and Neptune." Yang said raising an eyebrow as she leaned in, clearly looking forward to details. "Have you seen him at all since the dance?"

"No. I mean yes but not like seen him seen him." Weiss replied looking to the side "I don't really think he is interested in me like that..." Because he is gay, she finished in her mind. Ohhhhhh I hate secrets like this. How am I supposed to hide this?

After the dance they had certainly talked, but any bonding that happened only made it clear he wasn't interested. A little offended at this, Weiss had demanded an explanation. He did explain, but his answer only made Weiss' eyes grow larger.

And now here she was stuck trying to hide this fact from her friends. I've never even known anyone who is gay, she thought, and now I'm covering for him. Why couldn't he just be open about this and save her the trouble?

"Don't give up yet Weiss." Blake told her "Jaune likes you, so there must be something in there that guys look for"

"Thanks" said Weiss skeptically "I think."

"Yeah" jumped in Ruby "Besides, you're super cute."

"Of course I am" she responded, blushing down.

"Are you okay?" asked Yang eyeing her strangely, a hint of worry showing in her expression.

"Yes!" Weiss protested. Geez this gay talk is getting to me, she thought. Stupid Neptune and his perversion. "We have to go anyway. Sparring starts soon."

"Yeah, in like 35 minutes." The other two joined Yang in her examination now.

"Well I want to get there early." Weiss stated, rising from her seat. "I'll see you all there"

As she walked away, the remaining three looked at each other with puzzled looks. "Was it something I said?" asked Ruby.
