Dear Matilda,
I just checked into my hotel room here in Krakhadum, just got finished with a meeting with Lord Bryth Wyrmslayer about our mission tomorrow. I still can't believe I'm doing this, but once this is over, it's over, this is my final adventure and between this and the money from the guild, we'll have enough to retire.
My teammates are an interesting bunch to say the least; our squad leader is a huge, nearly 8 feet tall, grey scaled Dragonborn Barbarian, right out of Arkhose. Every time I turn around though, he always seems to be asleep, hell our meeting was interrupted several time due to his loud snoring, I didn't even get a chance to ask for his name before he dosed off in the middle of our chat, so I call him Snoreborn, for now at least.
Another member of our group that sticks out is Blintix, a Goblin Warlord, who was requested by his leader to join our scouting party as a show of good faith as well as to "remove" some of the northern based Goblins from this world. What stands out the most about Blintix, other than the giant sword twice as big as he is, is that he speaks with an air of sophistication I didn't think any Goblin had, remember our last visit to Goblintown, geez.
Lucille is the name of our Runepriest and she can't be any older than 17 at the least. Almost a damn shame they got to send kids over the wall like this and normally I'd be dead set against it, that is until I saw her take down two, heavenly armed guards with no effort, just for making fun of her elf ears. Needless to say, she's spending the night at the local dungeon.
Then there's me of course, an assassin who's been asked to join cause my experience can help meld this group of rag-tag mercenaries into a well-oiled machine. It's still as funny in my mind as it was they night I left home, but after meeting this team, I might be the member that is needed to at least keep focus on the mission. Worst yet, we still have a 5th member who reported in, but hasn't come back yet, whether he or she comes or not, we're going over the wall first thing in the morning. I'll be sure to send letters of our progress and maybe can find a nice piece of land to build a house in once this is all over.
Till next time, your loving husband,
Daiman.
