Trust
Trust
What is it?
Is it that feeling
When someone is holding your hand
As you hang over the side of a cliff
And they tell you to let go?
That moment
As you hang
And then you open your hand
And you fall,
that second
Before someone catches you.
Is that trust?
Holding yourself back,
Trying to rein in your power
Because you don't want to see their faces if you lose all control?
And believing that they won't turn you away,
That they accept you for who you are
And all that comes with it?
A blank mask and demonic rage
A near uncontrollable power
And knowing they won't turn you away?
Trust.
Trust.
This feeling…
I… trust.
I trust…
I trusted you.
I trust them.
Then…
I trust…
A/N: Set anytime after Betrayal or after Aftershock. It is, if you can't tell, a poem about trust.
If you're confused: Raven and Terra speaking to and with each other, thinking about trust and what it means to them. Raven says she trusted Terra and Terra says that she still trusts the Titans. They both acknowledge that they can trust, and have. If you think that something like this couldn't happen because Terra's a statue, it's my world. My rules. Anything goes.
