A/N: Kudos to whoever can figure out the cryptic title... I had a really hard time coming up with it (and am still not quite satisfied tbh).
Supernova
Your silky, raven hair reminds me of a clear night sky. The soft strands frame your pale face flawlessly. In those rare moments you smile, I swear I would trade away an eternity just to have it last a second longer. (I would kill for eternity, but I would die for you.)
You notice my presence and turn your gaze from the window by your bedside. I just barely catch the end of yearning in your eyes and I must be insane, for I am jealous of an inanimate object. (You have driven me to madness and crazily enough, I don't mind at all.)
I have so much to tell you and so little time, but I hesitate like I always do, and ask instead, "How are you feeling?"
You smile with your lips but not your eyes. (Those eyes, stained deep crimson, make me forget how to breathe.)
I settle at the edge of your bed and comfortable silence falls between us.
Slowly, I bring the back of your hand, careful so as not to loosen the IV, to my lips.
I kiss it like a prayer to the stars.
End Note: I apologize for the shortness. This was originally supposed to be a poem, not prose. In fact, it wasn't even about Rai and Frankenstein, but they snuck in there somehow (mind control?), and I thought, why not? I do rather like them in this setting~
