Prologue

It was quiet at the castle of Drudainia, all were sleeping peacefully until a loud cry was heard from the room in the North Tower.

Waking to the sound of the young princesses cries, the Queen Ariel, quickly made her way to her daughters room.

When she arrived, she quietly opened the door and made her way towards the child sitting by the window.

"Now, whats all this crying about sweetheart?" Ariel said, as she pulled her daughter onto her lap. The small child looked up at her mother with wide watery eyes, "Mama, I had a bad dream," sniffing, the little princess began to cry again, clinging tightly to her mother.

"It's okay sweetheart, it was just a nightmare I'm here," Although there was some truth to the words the Queen had spoken, she knew that Valkyries dreams, where not always dreams. It was a gift and a curse at the same time, to be able to see coming events, sometimes having the gift to be able to change the future and then sometimes, the curse, of having to watch events play out and being powerless to stop them.

Ariel held her first born tightly, feeling the child slowly relax in her embrace. She looked out of the window, and up towards the stars, feeling there warm glow, and decided to tell her daughter a story,

"Long ago, there was a star, a star who longed to do more then just shine, she had watched the earth and its people for centuries, watching their adventures, and she wished to have one of her own, but being a star, she could not wish upon one of her sisters, like humans did, so she decided that she would ask the mother moon for help. So, the star went to the moon and asked, if she could be granted the chance to go to earth, to have an adventure of her own, at first the moon was weary of letting on of her daughters go to earth, for the moon had watched the many hardships, the mans wars, and the great amount of evil that had rages the lands over the years, but then, the moon had an idea and said to the star,

"I will grant this request, on one condition, you must find love within one year, or you will return to the skies and never venter to the world below again, you must show me, show us all, that there is still hope for the people of Earth."

The star looked wearily at her mother before saying, "There is still goodness in the hearts of men I know it, I believe it and I will prove it!" and so, the star, fell.

When she arrived she was taken aback by her new form and all the sights and smells to behold, everything was so colourful and everything was so bright.

The star then ventured beyond the crater she had created and went out in to the world.

After weeks of discovering new sights, smells and tastes, she came across a large group of people surrounding two men fighting. After a few minutes the dark haired man was kicked and beaten and obviously loosing badly, the other man then stopped the attack and robbed the man of all his money.

When the crowd dispersed, the star walked up to man and helped him.

After that day the star and the man became close friends, the star many times dragging the ears, away from other fights.

As more time past the star slowly began to fall again, only this time she had someone to catch her.

The star had proved to the moon that there was still hope for mankind, as the star was a shining light to the once, wayward prince." Ariel finished her story and smiled down at her daughter, large blue eyes met hers, they were full of wonder and of hope and the Queen continued,

"So my dear, whenever you feel like everything is crashing, your all alone and there is no one there to save you, remember, the stars are always there watching and guiding you along, so you are never truly alone,"

The little princess gaze turned from her mother and up towards the stars.

As she watched her daughter, she wished that she could stay so blissfully innocent and unaware of how important she truly was, for she was the true vessel of magic, and how small she was, for such a large destiny.

In the Drakon woods surrounding the castle, King Uther Pendragon of Camelot, lay in wait, waiting for the optimum moment to charge the castle and finally destroy the heart of magic. This was the final battle, the final battle, until finally he had rid the world of magic. Magic was a plague on this land, and he would be the one to save mankind from its evil. He had lost his beloved wife Ygraine to magic, and he would not let her death be another inconvenient casualty that the unholy creatures had caused.

As he looked up to the sky and watched as the clouds covered the moon he raised his sword high into the sky and roared,

"For Camelot!"

The princesses bedroom door burst open, showing the distraught bearded face of King Miton,

"Quick Ariel, grab Valkyrie, run and get to safety, Cerdan has been trusted with our son, he will keep him safe," he said quickly, Ariel looked at him and asked,

"My love, what's going on, what's happening?"

"That monster of a man Uther, he's attacking, he's attacking our home! How dare he, he is blinded by his hatred of magic, the fool, he's destroying the land because of his own stupid mistake!"

Standing up, Ariel placed a calming hand on the Kings shoulder,

"Calm down my love, we will defeat them, after this is over, we will be a proper family. Living in this purge has take that away from us, hold onto that hope my love,"

The little princess could sense the worry in her parents and said,

"Magic! Magic help!" Miton smiled sadly at his little girl, he leaned down and lifted her into his arms. Holding her tight he said,

"That is the one thing, we cannot use. You are the daughter of the wolf, which means wolf blood runs through your veins, and with that, comes the responsibility to serve and protect the people, no matter who they are. Being servants of the light we cannot use our magic in war against a kingdom that doesn't have the gifts we have. Always remember that little wolf."

Kissing his daughter on the head, he handed her back to Ariel,

"Get yourselves to safety, I will rejoin you after the battle,"

"No." Ariel said, staring into her husbands eyes, " I will not leave you, the day I married you, I vowed to stand by your side no matter what,"

The King opened his mouth and then closed it,

"There's no talking you out of this is there,"

"Nope,"

Miton shook his head in frustration when Ariel said,

"Go. Prepare your knights, I will get Valkyrie to safety and then I'll join you,"

"I love you. I love you both," the king said quietly, kissing his wife and child, he then rushed out of the room to prepare his knights.

Running through the tree's the Queen scanned the area, trying to find a place to hide her daughter. The princess began to cry loudly, causing the rain to pour down. Thunder and lightning crashed, across the night sky, causing the child's cries to grow louder.

"sh sh sh, my sweet, we have to hide you," the queen hushed her baby and saw a small cove near the river, she rushed over and gently set her child down. The Queen, eager to stop the princesses crying, began to sing softy an old prayer of protection,

"Mo ghuí go mbainfidh tú a bheith ar mo shúile

Agus é ag breathnú uirthi nuair a théann sí

Agus cuidiú léi a bheith ciallmhar

Cabhrú liom a ligean dul

Gach máthar paidir

A fhios ag gach páiste

Luaidhe di go dtí áit

Treoir í le do cairde

Chun áit ina mbainfidh sí a bheith sábháilte

Guím go bhfaighidh sí do éadrom

Agus tá sé ina chroí

Mar a thiteann dorchadas gach oíche, "

Kneeling down beside her half asleep daughter, she took the silver triskelion necklace from around her neck, and then hungit around her daughters,

"So you will always remember who you are my sweet, and never forget, you may have the blood of the wolf, but you have the heart, of a queen and the soul, of a dragon,"

Placing a kiss on her forehead, the queens eyes burned golden, while tears began to form in her sapphire eyes, as she began to use magic to grow vines around the opening to the small cove, to hide her little princess and then then she ran back to the castle preparing to fight against the knights of Camelot.

After hours of fighting, King Miton finally fell to his knees after being mortally wounded by the sword of King Uther, after watching his beloved wife being struck down. The Knights of Drudainia saw there King and Queen's death and slowly began to retreat back to the castle, using what magic they could to protect the Kingdoms perimeters, which slowly began to push back the invading forces. Then they used all the power they could muster to create a giant lake, surrounding the castle, the only way they could protect their people.

After the realisation that the young prince and princess had been removed from the kingdom for their own safety, they began to hope and pray that one day, one day, the heirs to the throne would return, and bring magic back to the land.

In the Camelot camp King Uther was sitting in tent holding a small sleeping child,

" Don't you worry little princess, I'll look after you now,"

As he and the other knights rode back to Camelot, with the princess, Uther watched as the girls sapphire eyes burned gold as they rode up to the gates Camelot.

The King was shocked, at this but realising that he should have known, the child would have magic, it was after all the last living heir to the thrown of Drudainia, the heart of magic. He thought to himself, this child, she is the heir to the most powerful kingdom in the entire 5 realms, he could use that to his advantage.

As Uther rode victoriously into Camelot, a tall, skinny, blonde boy with, bright blue eyes, came running towards him shouting,

" FATHER, FATHER!"

the old physician, Gaius, walked casually behind him, not even daring to try run after him.

"Arthur my son, we have come back victorious. With my return i bring with me a very important person, and I am giving you the task and responsibility of protecting this person. Are you up to the task young knight?"

Gaius looked at him with questioning eyes but he knew to keep quiet and not voice his curiosity until they were alone.

Arthur looked up at his father, and nodded vigorously, as he'd never been given a job before, let alone an important one. He vowed to himself that he would do whatever his Father wants and so he could make him proud.

The king got down from his steed, and showed the boy the little princess whose eyes were so blue the sky and seas envied them. Arthur was the first person she looked at since coming to Camelot and Arthur knew she liked him, because she smile and laughed when she saw him and Arthur loved her from the moment he set his eyes on her, he knew he would always protect her no matter what.

Arthur confidently took the girl from his fathers arms and held her hand as they began to walk towards the castle, his head held high, and he began to tell his now baby sister all about Camelot, and how he would become the noblest knights of all the land to and how he would protect her and be there for her through thick and thin.

Uther looked at his son and adopted daughter and smiled, he knew Arthur would fight to his last breath to protect the princess.

Gaius looked at the king and asked,

"My Lord what do you intend to do with the princess? For she is the heir to the throne of Drudainia, the wolfs daughter and the true vessel of magic, she is everything you have fought against," the wise old man looked questioningly at the King, and Uther simply replied,

"She is my daughter know and she is this kingdoms princess, I intend to love her as much as I love Arthur, I truly do not know what it was that made me save her, I believe that if I keep her away from magic she will be rid of the monstrosity that lives with in her. Now Gaius, can you go and help Arthur before he kills the girl,"

As the boy was struggling with the little girl trying to get away from him so she could go play.

Gaius rushed off to help the boy and smiled when he saw him laughing and hugging his sister, after he brought her over to one of the horses, he would be a great big brother.
