A/N: Epitaph – A commemorative inscription on a tomb or mortuary monument about the person buried at that site. (n) Well, I'm not entirely sure this fits the definition, but this is L's epitaph and, subsequently, his last words directed and meant for Kira. I was really excited about this idea (although I'm sure it's been done) but I'm not too happy with the way things turned out.
Do not pass by my epitaph,
traveler
But having stopped, stay, and listen awhile
There is
no God Osiris, no trinity of souls;
Ka, Ba, and Akh, to bear me
thus.
There is no Gate Hades, no dog Cerberus,
No River Styx
nor its brother Sanzu,
As I lie dead I am naught but bone and ash
beneath your feet
But remember well, for justice is not so easily
judged
Do not pass by my epitaph, traveler
For there is no
transcendent power anywhere
Now having visited go your way
Lest
even while dead I seem loquacious to you
