I was listening to Daylight by Maroon 5 and decided to write a oneshot about it.

Embry's point of view

Tomorrow's the day we fight the newborns with the Cullen's. And might be the day I die; leaving behind my angel.

Here I am waiting, I'll have to leave soon
Why am I holding on?
We knew this day would come, we knew it all along
How did it come so fast?

This is our last night but it's late
And I'm trying not to sleep
Cause I know, when I wake, I will have to slip away

My imprint Kylie. She's my everything and I can't leave her. But I might have to. It's around midnight and she's asleep in my arms. She knows everything and is scared too. I hold her closer knowing I only have a few more hours till I'll have to leave and potentially not come back.

I look at my angel's beautiful sleeping form. She has straight black hair that goes to her shoulders, muddy brown eyes, carmel skin, long eyelashes, rosy cheeks, and full lips. She's perfection in my eyes, even though she thinks differently. She's my angel and I love her with all my heart and soul.

Here I am staring at your perfection

The sky is getting bright, the stars are burning out

This is way too hard, cause I know

This is my last glance that will soon be memory

We've been together for a few months but they've been the best months of my life. She understands everything I do and excepts me. She gets me and I love that she's so understanding. The real reason I'm fighting the newborns is to keep them away from my angel. She moves around in my arms and whispers my name. I kiss her head and hold her close.

As the hours tick down I get sadder and sadder. I just wish the dark would stay so I could be with my imprint longer.

As the sun comes up I hold her as close as possible without suffocating her. I feel her wrap her arms around me and hold me close.

"I love you Embry," she whispers.

"I love you too," I whisper back.
