--

Mark was standing at the nurses station, telling a nurse what he wanted her to do for a patient when Izzie walked over and asked for a chart from another nurse.

Izzie told the nurse thank you when the nurse handed it to her. She looked over, finally seeing the man she had been hearing about. "Dr. Sloan."

Mark looked over at Izzie and gave her a nod. "Stevens."

"I heard you are trying to become a new and improved man." Izzie said looking at him. She wanted to find out if it was true or not. She didn't quite believe it herself.

Mark glanced down at the ground. "Yeah…" He felt a tinge of guilt within himself.

"I have to say, I'm impressed." Izzie said with a small smile.

Mark looked back up at her. "You are?"

Izzie nodded. "Yeah, I mean, I would have never imagined you, the man whore of all man whores trying to change himself for the better. You, even trying, impresses me." She told him honestly.

Mark glanced down at the ground again as he heard her pager go off.

Izzie looked down at it. "I have to go." She looked up at him. "Have a nice day Dr. Sloan." She gave him a small smile before walking away.

Mark glanced at her walking figure. He felt even more guiltier hearing all that she had to say. He was trying to change, he was trying to change and he blew it. The woman who would never give into him, the woman who wouldn't get him his coffee when she was his intern, the woman who probably is a relationship type girl, and the woman who only gives respect to others who give it to her back, was impressed with him.

He tried, and he failed. Izzie Stevens was impressed, and that surprised him, but it made him feel guilty. He was so determined to change, to be a better man, and he blew it. He wasn't even thinking when he was heading to the on call room.

That's what he needed to do, think. All those year of thinking with his manhood, he needed to think with his mind. He's willing to do that, because there's always room for a second try, right? And maybe he could impress Stevens again.

He smirked to himself on that thought.
