EDIT (3/16/2017): I realized I forgot to include a disclaimer about the contents of this drabble. I did not come up with the following section - "She's been changed. It's become a part of her. Corrupted her. But what frightens her most is... She likes it." This is a quote from a Metroid game that I happened upon one day and decided to write a drabble around it. I apologize if you thought I came up with it and thought it was genius on my end or something (lol). I originally intended to include a disclaimer informing everyone that I wasn't the person who came up with that amazing quote, but I forgot and only just realized that I did. My apologies again, and I'm sorry if that knowledge lessens the quality of this drabble in your mind.

(And a huge thank you to everyone who reviewed/favorited/followed - I love you all so much!)

Every day she can feel it; she can feel it changing her. It seeps further into her, changing her entirety. Why, why, why can't she stop it? At first, she tried everything to halt it in its tracks. Starving it, ignoring it, talking about it (to that Pokémon who obviously couldn't tell anyone else about it, thus keeping it a secret). And then she gave up.

Every day she knows the simple fact that is truer than it was yesterday; that it's becoming a part of her. Intertwining itself into her very being, taking over her and swallowing her almost whole. She knows it's only a matter of time before she's been changed by it entirely.

Every day she feels its corruption; the corruption that's corrupting her. She finds herself saying things she'd never say before it came and latched onto her, she finds herself doing things she would have died before doing previously. But she's been fully overtaken by it and can't stop herself.

She's been changed.

It's become a part of her.

Corrupted her.

But what frightens her most is…

She likes it.

So that's why, when his hand is held out to her, she takes it without a moment's hesitation. When he hugs her, she returns the gesture. When he kisses her, she reciprocates affectionately. Because that's all that's corrupted Samus Aran beyond the point of self-recognition, really. That four letter word that she was terrified of before, for lack of understanding it. But now that she's overtaken by it, she knows it inside out, and whenever she sees Marth, the word is always on the tip of her tongue; the word that is ready to sing to the entire world how it conquered the unconquerable Samus Aran.

Samus smiles, leaning into his embrace further. "I love you, Marth."

And little does she know it (though she immensely hopes for it), but that immensely significant four letter word has conquered Marth as well.

AN- A drabble I wrote in five minutes, then I proofread for five more. I couldn't help myself from writing this; I love me some Marth/Samus and needed some of it today ^_^

Thanks for reading! :)
