He sniffled. The trail of tears falling in sync with the rain. Kiragi's eyes repeatedly followed the words engraved into the tombstone. His clothing swallowed up every drop keeping the boy sucken into that very spot, but that didn't bother him. He would stay like this forever if it meant he would be with his father.

The world had become very dull. Bright colors were masked with shades of gray. Kiragi, always so high-spirited and full of energy, the one to brought smiles to everyone's faces, was all drained out dry. That one smile that the boy loved to form was freed from existence.

Kiragi didn't prefer to cry in front of others. It would only make his condition worsen to see his friends sad with concern. When he was alone, his eyes flooded like waterworks until he fell asleep in exhaustion. Tonight may be one of those nights.

"Kiragi! There you are!"

Kiragi lifted his head to see his cousin running to him. The rest of his body didn't move, nor did he respond back.

"You really scared me there. I was worried sick about you. Why are you-oh." Shiro gazed at Kiragi in his position. This brought no shock to the young man. His heart was still in pieces thinking about the loss of his own father, whose tombstone lay silent next to his uncle's. The pieces shattered into millions.

Shiro knelt down next to his cousin pulling him into a tight embrace. "Kiragi..." He could feel the warm breath seep into his clothes. His tears made puddles larger than the rain could ever make.

"T-there were so many things I wanted to do with him." He muffled. "I-I wanted to show everything beyond the mountains. Why did he have to go before I could show him?"

Shiro could feel him own eyes getting glassy. The memories he had with his father were all he had left. That and the power of the legendary Raijinto that was now in his possession as the Fujin Yumi was in his cousin's. "I know how upset you are Kiragi. Believe me, I know." He whispered.

"Shiro, how are not upset about Uncle Ryoma? You do miss him don't you?"

The older teen pulled away and rested his hands on the archer's shoulders. "Of course I do. I think of him all the time ." His voice was soft and caring. "But what you gotta do is think of all the fun memories you had together. You'll feel better smiling when you think about him rather than crying."

Kiragi's tears slowed down. They stuck to his face. "I do remember one time we were having target practice. Dad missed and hit a beehive. We had a competition of who could run away the fastest. I won." His lip curled.

"You see? You're smiling! Always remember the things you did do with your dad instead of what you didn't do." Shiro smiled to complement the archer's.

Kiragi sniffled one last time. He let the last of his tears fall. "I guess you're right. I sort of feel better."

"Now that's the Kiragi I know. Now come back to the castle. Everyone is worried." Shiro stood on his feet. He offered his cousin a hand to help him up. "Say, you know what I heard?" Kiragi raised an eyebrow. "The Nohrians are awful hunters. Looks like they could use your help once the rain stops."

This made Kiragi's eyes light up. "They can count on me! With the power of the Fujin Yumi I can take down any animal!"

Shiro patted him on the back as they walked back to the Hoshidian grounds. "Then maybe we could cook it up and share it with everyone."

"Yay! Sounds like a plan!"
