'Oi, Chichinashi. What are you looking at?'
The voice behind you startles you, as you jump back in surprise.
'Tch…'
You watch Ayato hiss in annoyance and walk closer, until he loomed over you.
'I-I was looking at the rose garden below… It's beautiful, isn't it…?' You speak softly, turning your head back to the scenery behind you.
On this moonlit night, the air was fresh as the smell of roses wafted from the garden beneath your balcony. The full moon shone clear in the night sky, illuminating the forests surrounding the Sakamaki castle. In the distance, you could faintly see the small, flickering lights of the nearest village, small in comparison to the outlines of the great mountains beyond.
It was…impossibly beautiful.
Just like a dream…
You close your eyes, and inhale the cool night air deeply.
Everything…is perfect…
You suddenly feel Ayato place his hands on your waist, as he admired the scenery together with you.
Together, with Ayato-kun…
You somehow feel much calmer with him near, although your heart beats more than twice as fast, as you slowly rest your head upon his shoulder.
For once, he didn't complain.
'Can we…stay like this for a while longer…?' You turn to Ayato and ask him.
A small smile forms on his face.
'Of course.'
These two words, quietly spoken.
Conveying the meaning of one.
'Forever.'
