The Story of Liz Bower

The Story of Liz Bower

Note: For those of you who thought that I was just doing a mimic of the "Eliza" stories, well then you were misled!! I am merely a fan, just as you are! All right, as in the first one this chapter takes place at Diagon Alley. –Zociac

Liz peered through the shop windows as she walked up and down Diagon Alley.

"What a wondrous place!" Said Liz, peering through Mr. Ollivanders shop for wands. It was then she realized that a new wand good do some good, if her aunt would let her have one.

"Uh, Aunt Manaly, do I have enough money for a new wand?" Asked Liz sheepishly.

"A new wand?" Said her aunt with a confused expression on her face.

"Well yes, you see, last year when I was in Charms class, a boy sat on it, and well it, it is now broken." Said Liz holding the wand, a strand of unicorn hair coming out of the tip.

"Oh I suppose." Said her aunt smiling, brown eyes twinkling.

As they approached Liz looked up and saw a sign with frayed golden letters. Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C., oh this ot' to be grand, thought Liz.

"Good afternoon," said a soft voice, much like her own.

"Good afternoon," said Liz, a bit startled.

"Hogwarts, I presume," said the man, not in a question like manner.

"Yes," said Liz.

"Ah, well lets see." Said Mr. Ollivander, shuffling about in an old trunk. He pulled many things out, an orange clock, what appeared to be a long shimmering thing, that Liz guessed was an Invisibility Cloche, and some other things.

"Here it is." Said the old man, pulling out a tape measurer.

"Now, arms up. Which is your wand arm?" Asked the man, the measurer going wild around Liz's body.

"Right," said Liz, noticing that the tape measurer going on its own now.

"Enough!" Screeched the man, and the measurer fell to the floor with a loud thunk. "Here try this. Willow, twelve inches, dragon heartstring, wippy. Try!" Said Mr. Ollivander, a look of curiosity in his eyes.

Liz took the wand and waved foolishly, but nothing happened. He took the wand and handed her another.

"Ebony, ten inches, unicorn hair-try," said Mr. Ollivander, but before she could even wave it around he took it back. Liz glanced uneasily at her aunt; she kindly smiled back like this was normal.

Liz tried and tried, still nothing though. Her arm grew weak from all of the waving. Until at last Mr. Ollivander found the perfect wand.

"Maple, phoenix feather, thirteen inches-try!"

Liz plucked the wand our of Mr. Ollivander's hand a felt a sudden warmth calm her body. She lifted the wand above her head and brought it down through the musty air, illuminating white sparks from the tip. Aunt Manaly whooped and hollered, while Liz stood awestruck, she had never felt power like that with her old wand.

"Good thing we found your match soon, I was afraid I might have not had it." Said Mr. Ollivander sighing a whiff of relief.

They paid seven gold Galleons for the wand and were off to Flourish and Blotts, to but her needed books. Liz walked up and down the isles grabbing the requested books, then headed over to the advanced charms section. She hastily picked up a book called Charms, Protection of all Forms, and Secretive Charms of the Ancient Times. Her aunt literally dragged her away from a book on Defense Against the Dark Arts, The Complete Volume of Counter Curses.

It was upon her visit to Madam Malkins's Robes for all Occasions, that she met the Harry Potter. As she walked into the mucky old store that smelled strongly of new fabric a kind old witch directed her to the back.

As she got up on a stool she heard some say:

"Hello! Hogwarts?" Asked the boy. He had jet-black hair, and striking green eyes.

"Oh hello, yes." Said Liz, felling a funny tingle run through her.

"What house are you in? You don't look familiar." Said the boy.

"Umm, house?" Said Liz unsurely.

"Yeah you know, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff." Said the boy getting measured by old looking women with graying hair.

"Ravenclaw, and Huff-what?" Asked Liz, completely lost. "I am new this year so I really do not know much."

"Oh, well then, nice to meet you. My name is Harry Potter-"

"Harry Potter, the Harry Potter!" Screamed Liz, she could feel her eyes linger up to his forehead. And there, as plain as day was a lighting shaped scar.

"Yeah, and you are?" Asked Harry.

"Oh, Liz…Liz Bower, nice to met you!" Said Liz striking her hand out for him to shake. He reached out and touched her hand; Liz felt a weird quiver go up and down her spine.

"You are done dear." Said a lady to Harry.

"Well it was nice meeting you, but I must be going. Hope to see you at Hogwarts, in Gryffindor." And then he turned and left, his face blushing crimson.

"Bye." Whispered Liz.

When she got her robes, Liz walked out only to see her aunt waiting with two vanilla ice pops. She had not had anything since breakfast, so naturally she was grateful to see them.

While slurping down her ice pop, Liz thought it best to ask her aunt about Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, and Huff-something.

"Aunt Manaly." Said Liz.

"Humm?" Said her aunt engrossed in the ice pop.

"What are Ravenclaw and Gryffindor?"

"Hogwarts houses." Said her aunt.

"Oh," said Liz, this did not answer her question, but she was far too tired to medal in it now.

Note: All right, how did you like it? You have got to remember that I am new at this so don't be too harsh! I also want to say Thanks to Eliza Diawna Snape too!

Disclaimer: I own nothing except Liz Bower, Aunt Manaly, yada, yada, yada….
