Mitchie hates silence. It's the worst thing in the world. Really. It's even worse than murder. She hates it.

Mitchie hates silence. When she goes to sleep she has to have her radio on. Or she turns the fan on, even if it's already too cold. When she's at camp, she can't drift off until after Caitlyn because she snores. Mitchie needs some noise in the background. If it's silent, she can't sleep. And if she does she'll have nightmares. In her nightmares she drowns in the silence. She hates it.

Mitchie hates silence. When Shane found out she had lied, he didn't talk to her. His silence cut her like a knife. She asked Caitlyn for help and Caitlyn stayed silent because she couldn't dig Mitchie out of her hole. Mitchie had to deal with the silence of the two people she loved the most (even if she didn't know it). She really hated silence.

Mitchie hates silence. When she got back from camp that first summer her parents didn't speak to each other. Their unspoken words hurt Mitchie more than vicious spoken words would have. Mitchie thought she would have preferred to overhear all their violent fights than have to endure the silence, because Mitchie hates silence.

Mitchie hates silence. She hates it even more than the sound of her own voice. She rambles on to Shane for hours just so she doesn't have to hear his silence. She does the same to Caity, who now seems so far away. Mitchie doesn't even hear Caity snore at night anymore. Maybe Caity isn't even there. Mitchie hums herself to sleep because of it. Mitchie really really hates that silence.

Mitchie hates silence. Especially when it is the result of something extremely loud. Like when she walked in on Shane and Caity. They jumped apart and said nothing. It was like the silence after her parent's final fight before the split. It was like the silence at night when she was alone after playing her first ever live show. That's the worst kind of silence, when there is nothing at all left to say. Usually that means it's the end of something beautiful. Mitchie hates silent endings. She hates silence.

Mitchie hates silence. She hates it more than anything in the world. That's really the reason why she sings. It covers up the silence and sometimes it even makes her forget.

Okay, I think this is really weird, but I kind of like it. This hate for silence is totally me and I had to write it down. Please tell me what you thought of it, or how you felt while you read it in a review. I'll totally love you forever. Thanks for reading! :)
