"So, where are your real parents?"
They freeze, not expecting this one question. Looking at each other, the three try to come up with something- anything- to say. They can't. When one would open their mouth, another would do so as well, causing both to snap their mouths shut.
"We're on a live interview," the interviewer whispers quietly, looking at the camera.
It was a long and awkward silence before one of them speaks up. "I don't know."
The interviewer pressed on, truly curious now. "Do you not know because you have no knowledge of their whereabouts or do you simply not care?" He is getting eager. Finally, dirt on the three chipmunks.
They come up with an answer faster than before.
"I don't know."
