There is no Leader

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter

A/N: I really can't stand other writers referring to James or Sirius as the unofficial leaders of the Marauders so here's to prove there isn't.

Someone always asks "Who is the unofficial leader of the Marauders?" Their response is always James or Sirius, maybe even Remus. But this isn't true. This isn't a group with a leader and three inferiors. They're friends not a click. This is a group of friends who through the ups and the downs, through the thick and thin have always stuck together. There may be disputes, secrets untold, mistakes made, but in the end they're friends. They stood up for each other, helped each other, and consoled each other. They laughed together, talked together, played together, fought together, pranked together, they did everything together. They were friends, marauders, and most importantly they were brothers. There was no stronger bond of friendship than the one between Remus, Peter, Sirius, and James who were known amongst themselves as Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs. How could there be a leader in a group where if one called for help the other three were already there for him before he knew he needed help? What do you say about three friends who become animagi to help ease the pain and torture of the fourth's lycanthropy? What do you say about a friend who died to protect the other's son? Can you say that one was more important than the other; can you say that there was a leader? There is no leader in a group of friends that love each other and stick together through lies, betrayal, truth, and life.

This is dedicated to all those who put a leader of the Marauders in their stories.
