Blue eyes slowly opened – blue as sky, bluer than any blue anyone has ever seen, the proof of his speciality – and blinked for few times before their owner – just as unpredictable as sky, sometimes sunny, sometimes cloudy, sometimes stormy – realized that it was still somewhat dark and it obviously wasn't time to wake up yet.

He snuggled closer to the source of warmth next to him – when they said that he was unable to be warm, they were wrong – and pulled the covers up, tighter around them, tighter, until it felt like nothing else mattered.

It was one of those mornings when you felt like you could just lay down there forever, with absolutely no-one interrupting you, curled up under the warm, soft covers with no worries about the world...

He had never had a vacation. It wasn't part of his eternal career. Though maybe, just maybe, the closest to any kind of vacation had been his childhood that he didn't remember much about, but those tiny bits he did remember were filled with lazy days and children's laughter.

Silent chuckle, merely a rumble at the very back of a throat.

A nation.

Immortal, beautiful, pitiful nation.

"Are you having unnecessary thoughts again?"

He tilted his head up a little.

"What'cha mean?"

"You are having that look on your face again."

Gentle touch of rough fingers on tanned skin, brushing few astray golden locks away. Abnormally violet eyes (they may remind some of a winter morning, when all shades of that color blend together on the sky like a simple work of modern art) look into the sky blue ones, like they would see everything and still nothing.

"Sorry."

"Don't apologize, дорогой."

"Fine. Sorry about that."

"Quit teasing me."

"You know you like it."

"Sleep. It's still too early for this."

Swift brush of lips.

Behind the blood red curtains, far away in the horizon, sun starts another one of its journeys through the sky from East to West, from life to death.

Uh, so yeah, hi. I'm not dead, as you can see. I haven't written anything even relatively good in a long time and then this just came out of nowhere and I had to write it. So there you go.

My writer's block better be over now.
