If you're wondering why this chapter is short, that's because it's not a chapter. This story is just a one shot about Persephone.

Persephone was outside enjoying the warm sunny day. As usual, she looked beautiful in her long flowing dress. But she didn't realize that her beauty had gotten someone's attention. That someone was watching her. Persephone was happily picking the flowers that was in every colour of the rainbow. Suddenly, her heart almost dropped. The ground started to shake, and shake, and shake. It was worse than an earthquake because the ground opened up and swallowed Persephone, as if the ground became a hungry living thing. Persephone fell screaming into darkness, the sunlight fading before her eyes. She finally made it to the bottom, and saw that it was the Underworld. And saw Hades, god of the Underworld, checking her out from head to toe.

Persephone bolted straight up, looking around and sighed. It was only a dream. But a dream that actually happened. She had fallen in love with Hades so she ate 6 pomegranate seeds, resulting to stay with her mother Demeter for six months and to stay with Hades for the other six. Even though she loved Hades and shall be with her mother for half of the year, she missed her mother terribly.

She sighed, swung her legs over to the side of the bed and changed out of her night gown into her dress. Then she went outside to her garden. Everytime she's in the garden, chills went down her spine for the garden always brings her memories, as clear as a freshwater spring. She would remember Demeter's warm smile, when her mother sings her a calming and beautiful lullaby every night, and when they would hang out in the garden.

A salty tear trickled down Persephone's cheek. Then opened her pouch of seeds and planted them. When she's finished she would step back and walk around, admiring her work. So everyday in the Underworld is always the same. Keeping her garden healthy, seeing the dead, having conversations with Hades, and anything that you can think of if you're in the Underworld.

And before Persephone knew it, it was spring. She would see clear blue skies, a shining golden sun, plants and grass in every shades of green, friuts and flowers in full bloom. Trees with brown bark stands tall with birds and squirrels perched delicately on the branches. And best of all, a woman standing in front of Persephone. Her mother. Demeter. They would laugh and cry, catching up and finishing their garden.

So this is the life of Persephone. The myth about the changing of the seasons. For spring and summer she will stay with Demeter, when everything is full of life. And autumn and winter she will stay with Hades, where Demeter will be heart broken and the crops will die.
