Sirus stared at the flower he was holding and let out a sigh. It was a beautiful flower, it's bright yellow petals gleaming in the sun.

Holding it by the stem, he pulled it towards him once more. The flowers sun-yellow petals reminded him of Alexandra, of her beautiful sun-yellow hair. Just like a flower, Alexandra could make a person feel better just by being there. She was kind and she was beautiful and…

Sirus cut himself off before he could finish that thought. There was no way that it could happen. He was a commoner and she a queen. What chance did he stand?

Sirus felt anger rise within him. He couldn't stand the thought of her in another mans arms, especially not in front of him. There was a sudden snap and suddenly Sirus found himself staring at the flower in his hand. It had broken off in his rage as he had gotten angrier. But the anger he had felt when he snapped it had gone and in it's place was concern. Concern for the flower, because he didn't know how to help it.

But Alexandra would, of that he was sure. Turning towards the palace with just a tinge of excitement, he ran towards it, with the flower in his hand.

Standing in her tower, Alexandra watched the entire display with a mild sense of amusement. He was a good person and deserved a fair chance, she decided. And in time his crush would pass. She didn't want it to be a bitter memory when it did. How little did she know of how it would end.
