"Liv, I'm home!" called Alex. "Where are you?"
"Here," Olivia called back.
Alex rolled her eyes. "Where's here?"
"Here, here."
Alex laughed in spite of herself and followed the sound of Olivia's voice to her office, spinning a bit on her chair, notwithstanding the many times Alex had told her not to do that because it scratched the floor.
Olivia looked up and greeted Alex with an impish smile. "Hey, Lex."
Alex smiled back and leaned in for a kiss. "Hey, babe. What are you doing in my office?"
"And how was your day at work?" replied Olivia sarcastically.
Alex gave her another kiss. "Fine, or at least as fine as our days at work ever are." She eyed the chair disapprovingly. "Why do you insist on wrecking my immaculate hardwood floor?"
"It's too perfect." Olivia shrugged, then gestured to the computer monitor. "Look what I found."
Alex glanced at the screen. "Why are you looking up my New York State Bar Association license? You don't believe I'm really a lawyer?"
"Of course you are, or else you're a damn good impersonator." She looked back at the screen. "Alexandra J. Cabot. What does the J stand for?"
Alex flushed and turned off the monitor. "I am definitely a member of the Bar, in good standing. Satisfied?"
"What does the J stand for?" repeated Olivia. "And is Alex Cabot blushing?"
"No, she isn't, and I hate my middle name. Don't you hate yours?"
Olivia folded her arms. "Come on, Alex. Tell me. I promise I won't laugh."
Alex heaved a theatrical sigh. "Okay, it's Juliet. Happy?"
"Alexandra Juliet Cabot." Olivia tried the words out on her tongue. "It suits you."
Alex rolled her eyes. "Oh, please. it's after my great-grandmother. I can't think of anyone who's been named Juliet in this century."
"What a coincidence." Olivia grinned. "Because my middle name is Romeo."
"Of course. What's your real middle name?"
"Alexandra," said Olivia seriously. "Proof that fate intended for us to be together."
"Right. Really, Liv."
"Okay, I'll tell you the truth, but you've got to promise me you won't freak out."
"Okay. Tell me."
"It's Lena."
Alex's eyes widened. "As in Petrovsky?"
"It's Latin, Lex. It means temptress. Isn't that fitting – in more ways than one?"
Alex groaned. "I don't care what it means. I really wish I hadn't asked."
